A stray cat

May 9, 2008 1:37pm CST
I am a huge cat lover. We had to give my darling cat away as we were relocated to a country in Africa and I couldn't take him with me. Needless to say that I was heartbroken and took a vow never to have animals again. We have just inherited a stray cat....so cute and now comes around every night for a bite and a stroke on the head. Just love it!

It is sooooo cute! Like I said in the above posting, he came for his feed last night and after he groomed himself, stretched out and allowed me to touch him....he left. Should see him tonight for a feed again!

Oh I love cats that are behaved. I'm sorry to hear that you have given away your cat. But I think that your cat can be replaced with the cute one as you said, and that the pain brought about by your previous cat will slowly heal. Have a wonderful day having your new cat.

Yesterday evening he came around for his feed, spend time at my feet grooming himself, stretch him out and as I was sitting on the verandah, he wanted to go into the house but at the end decided it is just fine to stay outside. I had a chat to him and then he was gone again.....should see him tonight!

Cat nip moment - Some of our cats
I'm sorry you had to give up your cat. I hope you found it a good new home. Now you can provide a safe shelter for this stray. There is nothing wrong with strays, all my cats are/were strays/rescues.

A stray animal is sometimes so beautiful as this one is. White and ginger and my dear Pedro was more ginger than white. He was also a recue cat!

Bawb - all he had left was his head, a ridge down his back and his tail
Some times strays can even be purebreds. Bawb, who was rescued by an aquantiance, was just such one. He was so near starvation, his fur was falling out, he only weighed 6 and a half pounds. After he was fattened up, I took him to a groomer, who's coworker was looking for a persian and adopted him.

I think it's time to take this cat in and love it just as it seems to love you. I think it's a sign that you're ready to take care of another cat who really needs a home. Good luck with your new buddy. What are you going to call your cat?

For now I am not calling him anything but kitty as I am so scared to get too attached to him although last night before he came for his feed, I thought about him and that he was a little late. Will see him tonight again for another feed, that is for sure.

The stray cat is blessed to have your care and food that fed it well. Sure, it'll keep back to your house every night for the love that it craves for! Do consider to adapt the cat and make it part of your family.
