I had never heard the term emo before today. From what I just read it is short for emotional. A bright and outgoing student in England hung herself, she was a emo and thought fellow emo followers would look up to her. Emo is a type of punk/hard rock music and is also a style or fashion somewhat like goths. They also tend to cut themselves. They are dark and gloomy somewhat like goths from what I can tell. What do you think of this new fad?

What an absolute waste of the gift of life. There is so much in this world to be joyful about, why would anyone choose to spend their life being gloomy? I probably sound like an old fuddy duddy, but I will never understand these young people!

There's a lot more sections/classes of Emo though, not just the black gothlike gloomy kids. Mine is what they call Christian Emo. They like bands like SwitchFoot and any Indie Band signed to Tooth and Nail Records. They don't dress in black just half black, their hair is long on one side, short on the other. They sit around and discuss each other's heart aches and it's important to share and care about each others struggles. It's not a new fad really. It's been around for years. They've even written a book about what is Emo. It's very informative, fun and it will take the worries out of you. And as far as disturbed goes, aren't most kids disturbed? :) I've seen some pretty funky looking country kids in Nashville.

I am usually the one to hear about things so I heard about this last year. I guess I'm not really the last because there are a few people that still don't know. But I don't really know what to think about this. I am a punk which means I like rock and stuff but I'm not emo or goth. Their have been a lot of people that have been making fun of emo kids and it makes them even more sad. This is just another fad and I don't think it'll be going anywhere anytime soon. But I don't really get the point of this. I know what they do but why would they choose this? That's all I want to know.
