Well, it seems as if summer is finally here, and I'm really happy about this as I'm very much a hot-weather person. But the only thing putting a slight dampner on it is that my hayfever has suddenly started to go mad :( I've got a constant burning, itching and dry feeling in my nose and throat, my nose is blocked and I'm doing a hell of a lot of sneezing. I use a Beconase spray which is usually very effective but it doesn't seem to be working this time, and I've never had much success with tablets. If you suffer from hayfever have you found anything that really works for you? Are there any natural / home remedies I can try? I'd be grateful for any suggestions. I'm determined not to let it spoil my summer...

hello liquorice, my teenage son suffers terribly from hayfever and he finds the best remedies are wearing sunglasses and taking anti histamine pills. I bought him stuff from the healthfood shop last year but it didnt really help. Like you he was prescribed beconase, eye drops and pills but the beconase didnt really do much. He did get relief from the eyedrops and pills though, sorry i cant remember the name of the pills, i will find out for you though.

I'm sorry to hear that your son gets this badly too. I also find it useful to wear sunglasses, and eye drops are a real life-saver for me too. I have tried a variety of different pills over the years but if you could find out the name I'd be really grateful in case I haven't come across them before. Thanks a lot for your response.

ok i just checked with him, the ones he had last year were levocetirizine hydrochloride (thats whats on prescription) and other ones he has used were loratadine and terfenadine, they probably have brand names too, maybe you could check them out. Let me know how you get on!

Thanks for telling me about them. I'm sorry that I only just found this response, while going through some old discussions! I'll look into the products that you recommended.
