I'm one of those people that constantly thinks. I think about what ifs constantly therefore I get a lot of anxiety. Espically with stressful events in my life. I take medication for it. But sometimes it still doesnt keep my mind from non stop thinking. How about you? What do you think causes you to think too much?

I think when I needed to think but I don't think too much that it affects my health and especially my brain. Of course, we constantly think all the days of our life. I don't think too much about stressful events in my life because when I do, I become emotional and I feel the pain deep inside my heart. Thinking of those past hurts is just feeling self-pity.

I'm not talking about past things. And I dont self pity myself. I'm talking about current things.

I'm highly offended that you would in other words say that I self pity myself. I'm glad that you can control your mind from over thinking but not everyone can. So dont put people down. That bad for THEIR HEALTH.

I think I think too much, lol. I don't have much choice - I am constantly being interrupted by the kids and phone calls and other distractions. I do not think clearly enough though, that's for sure. Something that really helps is meditation - just spending a few hours in silence and not doing anything can help silence all those thoughts because you become more clear headed...but at my house I'll never have the peace and quiet needed to meditate!

I've taken up meditation but with a baby it seems like everytime I start to get into it I get interrupted lol.

Hi There, I totally understand what you are saying as I do the same thing myself. I think and overthink everything. If I dont have something to worry about, I make darn sure I find something really quickly. I wish I had an answer for what causes this. It does lead to anxiety and eventually depression. I dont really have an answer for the cause, but just know there are people out there exactly the same. cheers,

So my dear, what could possibly be stressing you out currently? You are about to marry the love of your life, you have a lovely daughter. Your soon to be husband makes plenty of money so you don't have to work. Those all sound like blessings to me! You asked, what causes one to think too much. Usually it is weighing out choices that causes one to think too much! Trying to play out in their heads how things will turn out with the choice that they choose. Playiing it over and over again until the outcome is what they want it to be....sometimes it never is what they want it to be, so the continue to think and think about the situation at hand which then causes anxiety. Is that anything similar to the way you think?

I try not to. My mind is often a complete blank, which isn't always the best. Like a wise man once said, "It's important to use your head now and then." Poor me.

Everything causes me to think, I think so much some days that it makes my head hurt. I constantly have to be thinking about something, and no sooner have I finished with one thought than I am off with another. It is worse when I go to bed at night, thoughts just swirl around in my head constantly, I have to really concentrate on not thinking about anything just so that I can get some sleep!!!

Hi sophiasmom, There are many people who think too much and make themselves ill. We are all different, and we worry about different things. You have to learn to live for today, and face tomorrow's problems whey they get here. I know that is easy to say and much harder to do, but it's really the only way. Blessings.
