I did that in the 70's I didn't know tye-dye was in fashion again. I don't really keep up on fashions, I have been out of it for so long.

I haven't ever done it, but have thought that it would be neat to learn. My daughter will be tie-dying a shirt this month at school. They are teaching them how to do it and she is very excited about it.

Whoa! Flash back to the 60s! Yes, I've done my share of tie-dying but haven't made my own dyes.
Have fun!

I always have dye stashed in the work room. I use a lot of it when I get a new shipment of mohair for making teddy bears. Some get tie dyed, some just get spatter dyed but what ever I do to dye the fabric I have a wonderful time. It's almost like Christmas because you're never sure of what you'll get when you finish, it's always a surprise. How do you set your dye so that the reds don't turn the backgrounds pink???

I used to tie-dye shirts to sell at a boutique I worked for many, many years ago. The tie-dyed shirts is probably what got me started selling craft creations. They sold really well and I branched out into other things.
They are a lot of fun to make... hmmm, maybe that will be a summertime project to do with my boys.
Great post!
