small model in large clothes - model size 2, shirt size 12

Does it drive you crazy to see small models, modeling large size clothes? I get these mail order catalogs from all kinds of places, and I just don't get it. The clothing sizes usually start at size 12 and go up from there. The models are like a size 2. The clothes swallow them up and it looks ridiculous! The dresses look like sacks hanging, and you can tell they have to pin them in the back. Why on earth can't they just put large size clothes on a large size body, so you can see what they would look like, for real?

Yeah it is disgusting that htey only target that size of person. And I notice so many fabric prints this season are dots and loud colors and geometric designs...something a large person would not want to wear - but even if not large, the prints are just ugly anyway! My problem is I am a 40DD. I hate clothes shopping cause they dont' make clothes for a women with that size in mind. And if it does fit - the hem line of the blouse hangs our 6 inches from my waist!

It makes me mad. I actually dont shop in online or cataloges because the clothes never look like they really would if i wore them..i like going to a store trying things on and NOT having to bother with the hassle of sending things back

I learned my lesson on buying from a catalog! Yeah, they look nice on that model, but once on me - not even close! Through in my 40DD problem and I wore them around the house but never went out in the stupid looking things!

I agree! It is really irritating. It is hard enough to shop by mail or online as it is, and I would really like to see the items on someone who would actually wear these clothes. It cannot be that hard to find a model that is a size 14 or 20? I think using a larger model would increase sales as well. Then they would not piss so many larger customers off.

i think it greatly defeats the purpose.my mom is a size 20,and i have a hard time judging what to get for her with catalogs like that.she's disabled and it's not really convieniant for her to go to the store.

I've looked at the models, then looked at the sizes available. I've wonder what size that model has on, because it sure didn't look like a size 14 or even a 12. I'd like to see how I (me!!!) am going to look in the outfit. I'd like to see a little pooch sticking out in front or the big girls in front showing. Do you think they make special sizes in the clothes just for the models?

Yes it is rather annoying and I am a size 6. I just think that if they are going to produce clothes for larger women then shouldn't they show what the clothes will look like on a large women, since we cannot deny the fact that clothes look different on people of different sizes.

You are completely right! This seems to be a new trend and I hate it!
