My husband came home from work on Monday and stated Honey I think I had a stroke today. I said What. He then descirbed that his left arm got numb and he would not move it, and his month hung open and his vision went blurry for five minutes. He said that lasted for five minutes and he was fine. He then went back to work. He works two jobs and he came home at 8pm after that. I was so scarded I told him I would call his neurlogist tomorrow. He then proceeded to go to work on Tuesday. I could not stop him. He then had three more episodes of something at work. He was walking across the room and froze up. He could not move, he had a bunch of penciles and some business cards in his hands and did not drop them. He was making a girgling sound but not chocking. That lasted for five minutes. When that was over his co-workers called 911 and sat him down on a chair. He then started to have right sided tremors and pulling his head to the right and drooling. He had two bouts of that. When they where over he said "I feel like my old self again." His boss called me and I told them to have the ambulance squad send him to the nearest hospital and I would get there as soon as possible. I do not drive and he works out of town. He boss asked if I needed someone to come and pick me up. How nice is that. I did not but how nice is that? he would have sent one of the co-workers 45 miles to pick me up. The ER could not find anything and our daughter who lives 20 miles from my husbands work met him at the hospial while a couple of friends where bringing me the 45 miles south and my daugher came north. My daughter was able to bring us home and one of my friends drove home and the other one drove my husband's truck home. We now have gone to two different doctors and three different tests with more to come. I am thankful we have good insurance. We just pay a minor co-pay. The problem is my husband cannot go back to work for more than a month and he cannot drive for a month. He is already board. One of his sister's and brother's are coming for the weekend so I hope that will entertain him. I have not been able to work at all this week. I have plans to have a new excel project done. That did not happen unless I do it over the weekend. I might be able to with his family here. I just wanted to let all know why I have been MIA this week.

I have seen many seizures and so I would conclude it hast to be a stroke if I only have those two to choose from. I am sorry to hear that your husband has not been well. I have been missing you these past few days. I went to your profile just yesterday and showed my friend the picture of Petie and told her that he was my nephew. Alright, so she called the P.E.T(psychiatric emergency team) Team. But I ditched them, just kidding, smile. I hope that your husband is back to his regular self soon. God bless you.

Rozie you can hide from the P.E.T Team here with us. LOL Thanks for the kind words. He is doing fine every since last Tuesday. It is focal seizures. It is a form from the stroke. I am gald it is not stroke. I wish he did not have to go through any of this. He use to be so healthy, but did't we all? He cannot drive so we are going to have to take the bus together. My sister said we can sit in the back of the bus and neck like we use to when we where young. hahahaha.

I am sorry to hear that your husband is going through this. I am glad to hear that he is feeling better. I know how frightened and helpless you must feel, but your husband sounds like a fighter. Keep the faith. God bless you.

Sorry to be late on this, but I am so sorry to hear of your husband's illness. From what you wrote given between them both, that sounds like he had experienced a stroke, for I have witnessed epiletic clients before. I do pray and hope that they will be able discover what the problem is. Sometimes it take a while, before the correct diagnosis come about. I know that is difficult for you, but continue to hold on. I will be praying for you and your family. God bless.

Are you in the medical field? I am an RN and have seen lots of seizures and strokes before also. I have not seen a stroke or a seizure where one freezes up in the spot. He froze up and could not move for five minutes. He was not able to talk or move, he did not even fall. He had one foot in front of the other one. How wierd is that? Thanks for your prayers.

Your husband is probably having transient ischemic attacks or TIAs. Some people call them mini-strokes because it is just like a stroke but the symptoms are temporary and last less than 24 hours. A transient ischemic attack (TIA) is an acute episode of temporary and focal loss of cerebral function of vascular (occlusive) origin. TIAs are rapid in onset; symptoms reach their maximal manifestation in fewer than 5 minutes (usually

We are working him up for TIA's but it looks like it is seizures. I sure hope so. At leste a seizure is not as bad as a TIA. He has been fine since Tuesday.

I hope he'll be okay! Why don't you teach him Excel? He wouldn't be bored then! Or how to make a cute slide show with Powerpoint? Does he read or have a hobby? You have to get him involved in something or he'll drive you nuts. I hope they find out what's wrong with him. Any history of those things in his family? Does he have a circulation problem that could cut off blood to part of the brain and affect his motor nerves but not his fine muscles (not dropping the cards)? Did they give him any tests like an CT scan? Hope they find out what's wrong. That's got to be scary for you as well as for him!

He had a stroke four years ago so and they did not find out where the stroke came from. When he went to the ER the other day they did a CT scan and it was negative and he had an MRI of the brain last month because he was acting funny and becomming forgetful like when he fist had his stroke so the doctors where working him up for another stroke. I knew something was wrong but did not know what. I am an disabled RN so I thought he was having mini-strokes. The other day he had a crotid ultrasond and it looked clear to me. I will wait and see what the doctor says. He knows some of Excel but not like I do and I do not have the patience to teach him. hahaha He does not have any hobbies now. He use to do leather tooling. I guess I can see if he is interested in doing that again. We can get his tools out and set them up on the dinning room table. We can buy some leather and patterns. Thanks for the idea of a hobby.
