I get the "jack of all trades" comments a lot. I know a little about plumbing, electrical and carpentry. I've fixed several major and many minor problems around the house without having to call anyone to repair it. The most important thing is to know your limits, do know do try and rewire something or re-do your bathroom if you don't know what you are doing. It will take twice as much time and twice at much money(at least) to fix whatever you've done, plus quite a bit more to do it the correct way once they've fixed it. I will not touch the water heater or the stove. I know nothing about either of them and they both have active gas lines running into them. There is no reason for me to try and screw around with something whose whole point is to get VERY hot!

hi vanities I depend on my talented son specially for electrical stuff and electronics too even some plumbing also and some carpentry. I am a widow, and evenwhen my husband was alive he usually asked Robbie to do 'electical stuff as thats where his talents always led He is now a computer programmer. other stuff we call our manager and he sends in a repairman.

I am just as lucky. My husband is a jack of all trades as well. He can do carpentry, wiring, plumbing, fix cars, name it and he can basically do it. Or most of it. I love it because I don't have to pay someone to fix things or add onto our home. My husband can do it all.

Jackle of all, master of none. Its actually more me then my husband. He's good with cars while I am good with any home repair. A lot of different home repairs too. We are remodeling these days and I am teaching him what I know in hopes that some day I won't have to do it any more. If we have a home repair that we can't do or should I say don't want to do. We call the company I work for. Its a small family owned commercial / residental maintenace company. I am lucky to work there as they give me great rates compaired to others. Anyway so thats who does what and how much we pay.

My sweetie does white collar work. He is a lawyer. I figured that this man didn't know what it was like to ever get his hands dirty. Boy was I wrong. He remodeled an entire room from the electrical wiring to the drywall to turn it into a nursery for my avatar. He has fixed busted pipes in my basement more times than I could count. He has rerouted all the cable in the house so now every bedroom has a TV with cable. He can do my brakes, patch rust, and a whole long list of other mechanical repairs he has done to my vehicle. And the list of his greatness just goes on and on. I think the only thing this man can't do is sing. LOL Really, he can't carry a tune in a bucket! But it is a small price to pay for as amazing as he is in every other way!

my husband's a jack of 'no' trade! He can't do anything of the things most men do around the house. He can't even change an electrical bulb!! I grew up watching my dad do stuff around the house and now it's me who does it in my house. A little wiring, a little plumbing...that kind of stuff. If I'm not sure how to go about things, I know enough to call up someone who does and get directions.

Oh thats really good, its so handy if you have a partner who can do some jobs around the house.Hubby is not too bad at all here..he paints and decorates,he can garden..he does an allotment and grows our vegetables ..he isnt to good at the fiddly do it yourself jobs, like wiring etc,but usually we have a friend somewhere along the line who will help us out and do little jobs for us .He is fine with the car,he does the minor running repairs and he does the oil and water etc...so all in all yes he is very handy, and he knows that im very grateful to him for all he does.
