Why do women like things to do with the ocean in the bathroom?

Why is it every time you go to a womans house they have something to do with the ocean in there? Pictures, bars of soap, shower curtains, toilet covers, magazines, ect. They all have something. Do they associate the ocean with one big toilet? Single mens bathrooms are not like that. I'm a man and when I go to the bathroom I think of the wilderness...just like the pilgrims my friend. My bathroom is not an ocean theme but I would like it to be. Probably because that is where women go to escape. Let me tell you if you have small children, the bathroom may be the only place you can be alone. I would love to sink into my big clawfoot bathtub and pretend I was on a desert island. The ocean theme probably has something to do with the idea of escaping the world's troubles.

You men are all alike always want to sit on the throne. Bathrooms are small confined spaces ocean pictures lend visual depth to them.Its like adding mirror to your livng room which is too small. ocean is vast and never ending strtch of water. Its true that we want to escape the noises and stress of the family when inside the bathroom. View of Ocean is very relaxing and soothing for the mind.

I think it has something to do with a theme. It shows that you are in the bathroom that is decorated by a woman.

Hey I resemble that!!!!! No seriously, I don't have anything like that in there, my oldest sister however her bathroom is crammed with as much dolphin stuff as she can possibly shove in that room. I prefer a more simplier look. Less clutter is how I like it.

I think maybe it has to with the ocean refernece and since the smell of the ocean or water is generally assocciated with clean. I don't know though maybe the flushing sound reminds them of the sound of seashells.

I know a man whose bathroom is decorated with seashells and stuff from the beach. I have never decorated a bathroom with beach stuff myself.
I guess if someone does it though, it just means they like the beach.

I would say it has a pretty calming effect to help you feel pretty relaxed. Its a good way to have a nice soak in the bath and dream of being in by the ocean just for a short while. Soak your cares and worries away. xx

Well you see, you could hang up sanitory towels or used toilet paper, but I think distraction is the key here...avoidance of whatever the toilet is really used for. I would prefer the odd starfish to somthing more accurately portraying the actual goings-on in the bathroom area.
