I use myspace everyday . But I'm 22. I do think its probally not the best thing for young kids that 12,13,14,15 They can easisly be unaware of internet prowlers. So what about you. Do you have a son or daughter that you let use it or not. What are you views on myspace?

I do not have a myspace account and do not plan on having one any time soon. My sister does and thats fine with me. Granted she's in her 30somethings. My son first thought myspace was a place to create a new email address at... I first heard about it on Oprah when someone was on there talking about it and Oprah was warning parents about potential child predators. I told my son no he was not going to have an account there. Well he created one while on summer vacation at his dad's house. Yes being MOM I got pissed cuz he went behind my back. Technically I'm the only parent my teenager can count on. He's learned that when I say NO I truely mean NO. Anyway Good Luck with the rest of you whom do have myspace and the other things mentioned on here..

my son still has his account but he doesnt realize that he mentioned his pw to me and I go on once a month to check out his account... yes I know its invading his privacy.. he just hit 16 this january and mostly the only people he talks to on there is kids from school and his little half brothers' cousins and said little brother. He also has a bebo account which I think is something like myspace but not sure.. sometimes I wish I could step up on the table to yell at him for going behind my back like he did. He's 6foot tall and I'm 5foot4

For me myspace is suit to people that age ranges between 15-25. You are 22 so thats is just find. I do not like myspace so much so I do not visit that page often. My internet social life is over so I just pass all the social network in internet. Kids below 15 is not encourage to participarte any social network on internet because they are expose to strangers and cheaters. Its better to leave them to social in their school or neighbourhood.

No I also don't think it is a good place for kids 12 to 16, and I thought that the owner was suppose to make it 18 to log in and that you have to prove your age. I know he had to make some changes in the way it operates, it is a very dangerous place for young kids as to who they are talking to, my grand daughter is very trusting person and she was talking to someone she thought was from her school and come to find our it was a 27 year old man. My daughter called the number back and it was a man who said his son used his number and that he was 27 and yes her number was on his caller ID, he said that his son had been arrested once for messing with young kids. guess my daughter was lucky that the call came in and when she called it back she got the father. Now my granddaughter is not allowed to be on Myspace unless her mother is there with her and we all have her password so that we monitor what she is doing on there and who she is talking to, or who is talking to her.

I don't have any children and I no longer use Myspace. I found it to be a waste of my time because I would just sit on there and do nothing basically. I deleted my account and haven't missed it since...

I do not use myspace, I am registered with facebook, but do not use that either, I have never really got the hang of those places. I have a 16 year old lad, he is not with any of them either and is not interested in them, he goes on some game networking site though which can still be just as dangerous, but we have had many many talks about not believing that strangers are who they say they are.

I personally think that under 14 is too young. I have 2 step-daughters who are on MySpace, one is 14...the other is 12. The 14 year old has enough people on her account that eye her stuff A LOT! Her Aunt, Myself, and, of course, her father checks in on it at least once a week. However, he disagreed that the 12 year old should have one and deleted her profile. The 12 year old went behind his back and made a new one at her mom's house. Now she gets jealous when her older sister has more friends than her and pretty much just accepts anyone who wants to be her friend. It's kind of scary to think that she doesn't know what kind of people can be out there. Me personally, I am 27 and use MySpace because I have so many friends that I left behind when I left the Army that I use MySpace to keep in contact with them all.

I agree with you, my s/o's daughter has a myspace profile, she is 14, and too young for that type of networking site. For the most part there is no problem with it, and I keep a check on her page, but if I actually had any say so, she wouldn't be allowed to have access to myspace. I have myspace to post pictures to share with family and friends, but I'm also a grown woman and know what to watch for, even on the internet.
