How often do you hug your partner or show affection?

Are you an affectionate person? Do you hug, hold hands, and show affection regularly and on a daily basis or do you shy away from it? Why or why not? Are you aware that if you shy away because you are NOT in the mood that the simple act may help you feel more connected and in turn reaffirm your relationship? =)

I probably get more hugs and kisses than anyone I know. My husband is very affectionate and hugs me a minimum of 5 times a day I would guess. My three children are little cuddlers and are always showering me with hugs and kisses. I also get daily hugs from all 12 of my daycare children and many of my friends! I can't imagine going a day without affection from the people I love.

you are so lucky then, I don't even get a hug once in a month from others. But i usually get hugs from my girl. Hugging is taken as negative part in our society so its hard to give and take in public. But I feel good when I hug my girl. We both feel good while hugging and while sharing each others' affection.

I'm a very affectionate person and I hug my boyfriend all the time. I love hugging him because he feels very warm and it's chilly here in Norwich. I love to sit on his lap when he's sitting on his comuter chair. I hug him when he comes home from work even if he's wet with rain or pwerspiration. And I love it best because he always hug me back.

It makes me sad when I talk to a child who says people don't hug and cuddle in their family. I do understand that everybody is different but I think it affects some people negatively and causes harm in their future relationships with others if their family is too stingy with physical affection.

We are quite affectionate in our home with the exception - more or less - of my daughter - we hug, sit together, stay close etc on a regular basis.
Friends used to joke with hubby and I because for them it was somewhat unusual that we were married for so long and still acted like kids holding hands and hugging and all that. Now they're used to it :)
WHy are we? I"m not sure. Myself I suppose it's a mix of the way I am and the fact that my parents were also very affectionate with each other and me. Hubby I guess he became more because I am and he got used to- since his does not show affection at all - . The kids probably because they are used to see us showing affection.

We've been married for almost 25 years now, and yes apparently to some people, couples married for this long don't go around hugging and kissing and holding hands LOL
The reason why I think that the affectionate environment in my home when I was growing up can play a part in why I am affectionate myself - although the major part is because I am already - is because people that grow up in a different environment sometimes don't feel comfortable showing affection. Just because they weren't used to it. To some, showing or receiving affection is a sign of vulnerability, or even weakness. It doesn't happen to all, but to a lot of people that didn't experience shows of affection when they were children.
Both my kids were like your daughter, but as they grew up my daughter changed a bit. She is affectionate but not as much as we are. MY son, still is. He is almost 16 and still hugs me when he comes from school, puts his arm around me when we're walking, etc. MY daughter is a bit more distant and will only get closer when she's sad or hurting.

How long have you been married? I don't see any change in the future to our pda lol. I don't always come to the conclusions I do or decide how to act based on my past, sometimes I choose something that feels more like me than what I've experienced. I think some of that is why I rarely have a problem with seeing affection in public. I think it's great. People who frown need more affection in their lives. I think my hubby has always been somewhat that way but until me he did not have somebody in his life who appreciated it. My daughter is VERY cuddly and huggy and always has been. I think it's going to be really hard to keep her from coming in our room all the time. Right now it doesn't matter because she doesn't have to get up and go to school every morning, but next year she'll have to have a more regular bed time and not be getting up and coming in here over and over.

I hug my boyfriend all the time. Everytime we are together. When he comes to the door I hug him, i hug him when we part and many times throughout our date. I just cannot get enough of hugging him, holding his hands or giving him kisses, but when we are in public I understand people wouldn't like to see kisses so we hold hugs alot.

Me and my partner always cuddle up every night on the sofa watching tv, and we are always hugging each other.
Also when we are out we are always holding hands. We are very affectionate. I also get lots of cuddles from my 3 youngest children.

My husband and I hug each other every morning. Then on and off through out the day we will also hug each other and show affection to each other. When we go out we do hold hands but all the hugging we keep it at home. I like it when he puts his arm around me when sitting next to me. It's nice. !!!

I do it every day...so much so he calls me a sotong - it's Malay for calamari. Well, mostly because when I grab him, I end up groping him as well.
Anyway, I do it because I'm an affectionate person and I'm not the PDA (Public Display of Affection) type. A lot of my displays of affection is, well, private.

I don't honestly pay much attention whether we are home, out, in private etc. Other than making sure it isn't something that we could legally get in trouble for, who cares? Our kids used to give us looks for chasing each other around in the house, and we've gotten looks from people in grocery stores before, but you know, if someone is going to be sour and miss out on the joy of love and life and be disagreeable, I think they need someone to give THEM a little PDA =P
We aren't that young either, so here's to older couples with teens - if you still got it, enjoy it! Unless we have our little daughter wrapped around one of us, we are attached at the hands.

I dont restrict myself as long as it's not indecent in other people's eyes...

I love to hug my lubdub all the time. I wanna kiss and caress my lubdub every second of the day. It is my way of showing her that I am so inlove with her. I don't care if someone is looking when I am doing those stuffs to her.Me and my girlfriend have been together for eight years now and we are always in good mood when we're together. We never had any bad moods. That I can tell that we are really inlove and connected all the time. :0)

Hehe... well love isn't love till you give it away, right? I always get warm fuzzies when I see couples out holding hands or walking and hugging. I see so many ranting or yelling at each other or simply not touching. It's good to know there's still a couple good ones left out there.

When we're alone, we're very affectionate. We hold hands, touch each other, hug, kiss, smack each other (playfully), etc. When we're in public, we don't even hold hands!
Even if one of us isn't 'in the mood', we still flirt and show affection simply because it's a nice, comforting thing that we're comfortable with.

LOL! Well I for one do not mind! So many people are so taken for granted or stuck in a rut. Seeing people who are in love (and showing it) is refreshing.
