I'd go with garlic! Eat lots of garlic! It might not help you cure it over night, but it'll sure help you getting less colds, and improve your general health. I eat lots of garlic and I haven't had a cold in many years.
Fair enough, it's probably not all thanks to the garlic but I'm sure it is helping! My grandmother eats a sandwich with cheese and mashed garlic every day and she is 92 years old, what can I say :)

There's no cure for the common cold. All you need is time, adequate fluid intake, and rest. Your body will do the healing on its own. The average cold lasts 5-9 days.
Make sure you're not suffering from allergies. It's really easy to mistake an allergy for a cold since they have a lot of the same symptoms.

Take about 1,000 milligrams of vitamin C each day when you start feeling like you are sick. Some people swear by this. It's one of those things that is hard to prove if it really works, though. Also, drink lots of hot tea with honey in it. It will help with your sore throat. I like to kind of keep my lips to the cup and breathe in the steam. This helps your dried-out nasal passages and helps with congestion sometimes. Take a hot shower and close the bathroom door. That helps with congestion as well and it will help you feel better. One remedy I have ready about for a sore throat is mixing 4 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar (or regular if you don't have anything else) with 4 tablespoons of honey. Mix it together and take 2 tablespoons 4 times a day.
