Energy Costs

Clear Sky - These are the skies at our place, away from metropolitan areas with lots of clean fresh air.

With todays energy costs, (gas, diesel, etc.), do you think people will cut down on the amount of driving they do on a daily basis? If this does begin to happen, would this help our environment and reduce the amount of pollution in our atmosphere?

well every little bit helps, but i honestly dont think that many people will cut down on their driving because we are too dependant on our cars. and i know that most people will not take public transit if they are not used to it, its too inconvenient!

Public transit - Inconvenient. I couldn't have said it better myself. I have only utilized public transportation (the bus)TWICE and do not plan to use it again, if I don't absolutely have to. Thanks

People really should try to use less energy. Not just directly (like gas) but indirectly as well. Do not get what you do not need. Do not go where you do not need to go by plane or cars. naturally this will help the environemnet

That's the way I also think. Now-a-days that holds true even more than ever. Thanks

The market over a period of time balances things. In the short term, car pooling and use of public transport may increase. The thrust will be new research, more fuel efficient vehicles, hybrid vehicles, different kinds of fuels also. The energy cost compared in terms of dollar decline is considered be same as in 1980. It is hard to believe. The environmental pollution will change its pattern. Any cahnge in the existing pattern can be labeled as pollution. So the pollution pattern will change.

You're right, I agree with you. Wouldn't it be great to be able to go outside and be able to breathe clean, fresh air? Thanks for your response

I have heared about few scientists who have invented of how to generate energy by using seaweeds, artificialy cultivating them. For larger aamounts of energy to produce it would require huge area, but it's worth it as this process is based on environment friendly methods. Will see what future will bring.

You have heard of some beginning to experiment on running their cars on water, right? Bad Idea, I'd say. Thanks

Most of these, let say, experiments of alternetive source of energy are not promissing , but still, people try to change something, and even if it seems silly for the most. I don't know, but fuel prices are crazy now. One liter of diesel in my caountry costs over $2, and it still increases.
