Energy-saving light bulbs can trigger migraines,British health experts warn. The eco-bulbscan trigger dizziness, loss of focus and discomfort among people with epilepsy.Low energy light bulbs are miniature versions of the flourescent strip lights common in offices and kitchens. The latest ones are the size of the conventional bulbs with a filament, but use just a quarter of the energy! The Migraine Action Assotiation said that there was a growing concern bout the links between the bulbs and severe headaches. For some people migraine attack can be triggrered by flourescent lights, video screens and flashing lights and most of the currently available low energy light bulbs which are based on florescent light technology. Flourescent bulbs are due to bcom compulsory in British homeswithin 4yrs and campaigners are calling for the government to allow an opt-out for people with health probs. Think bout it,what do U wat to use...Flourescent or the old-fashioned bulbs? Being aware is the Mantra to Life....after all, just one life to live.

i cannot stand fluorescents, but especially those energy-savers! it's because they have what's known as 'discontinuous' light. if you've ever tried to photograph a computer monitor or some tv screens with a simple camera, you'll see 'interruption' lines or blanked out parts...due to the way the light 'vibrates'. this can definitely cause eye/head aches. i only use old fashioned bulbs. energy-saving is not my priority when those special bulbs make me unable to stand up straight from such severe headaches! ;)

Thats what the research says. It is not necessary that everybody get migrains due to flourescent lights, but it is always better to use the old fashioned lights. Prevention is always better than cure, it is good to save energy and money at the same time but what about your health.Migrains are terrible thing to happen, its irritating. if you want more info, i am sure there must be something on the net as there is research going on,on this subject.

It might be a good thing to make further studies and make sure that everything is considered before making anyhing subject to law. The government sure has the obligation to make the environment safe to everyone.

Hi to everyone!Migraine is very common to all and even me I have this problem at times when we are exposed too much to the computer.I suggest that when using computers we should take a bread after 30min eposure to the screen. say a 5min bread would help.At any rate when I started using the health product name ReVita which is manufactured in Orange country, Florida my Migraines problem is gone.Just try the product for it has no restriction for it is not a medecine but a health product that can be used from ages 1yr old and up.It too gives wellness to the body for it is a highly oxiginated product. It is a product that is processed cold which is different from the present process which is Hot process.

I bet you are right, the goverment should make further studies and only then subject it to law. It is quiet risky otherwise, cause people with the problem can just have their probs more aggrevated, think about the old age people in the hospitals they would have to go thru more torture because of these lights.

I've noticed the same thing myself. Except that it happens when the lighting in the room is not sufficient to see the computer screen without straining my eyes. Maybe the bulbs don't produce adequate lumens when compared to bulbs of the more traditional nature. Thanks for the info.

Mention not. Now that you know that the headaches might be caused due to the light, you can make your own wise decission! Just put up this article, coz not many people know about it, as a matter of fact even i didnt know about it before, came across a magazine which made me knowledgeable bout it.

Yes, my daughter gets migraines from them. We try to use them for energy saving purposes but don't in rooms she frequents when she comes to stay.

Thats a very wise thing to do, one should not use the cfl's in the rooms that they are in most of the time.
