The owl is hooting loudly

I know some where I read or someone told me that if you hear an owl hoot it means death is in the future. For the life of me I can not remember it all but I tell you I have one ticked off owl outside today that won't be quiet. He is either seeing something he can't get to or he is mad at the rain. I am not sure which tree he is in but he is out there. We have a family of horned owls in our town and until this spring they pretty much stayed on the other end of town but recently at least one of them has come around our house. One actually scared me flying past my window the other day. They are huge. It is just such a shock to see something go past the window so big and so fast. Today though I wish it would move some place else cause it is being very loud. Why do you suppose it moved away from where they had been? Have you heard the old wives tale about owls hooting? Do you have any suggestions on how to get it to move on?
