I submit for christian consideration that the steps of salvation are to believe in Jesus Christ, that he was who he said he was, died for my sins and was risen from the dead. Now if I believe that but still mess up ie.. I smoke, am I still saved? And do we make it as complicated as the pharisees for someone to follow Christ? Opinions please? Please be respectful to one another.

God's love is unconditional, I believe you are still saved if you smoke. No one is ever free from temptation or sin after they are saved. If we still smoke after we are saved, we will feel guilt, shame and worst of all separation from God. Our bodies are supposed to be a temple, filled with Jesus so we can be a light for the world to see.

As far as I understand the concept allows anyone to commit murder confess it to one of the trinity and you are home and dry in heaven. It is very easy but don't try it.

My understanding is that even if we do follow Jesus we will still be tempted to sin such as smoking (because it is bad for your health) We need to confess those sins and give them up. Jesus didn't say we would stop sinning just because we are saved. But we do need to stay in touch with him and keep on following him. He won't let go of us but we can let go of him.

I always believe that the only way to our salvation is Jesus Christ. Whether I have believe it right or not, I think to follow his teachings had made me a good person inside and constituent of my country. I could not imagine our world if people had not believed and have not feared Him (maybe we are in big dilemma). I think we have to work out our salvation. Believing and accepting Jesus Christ as our savior is only the start. Reading and hearing His words together with maintaining a regular and solitary moments and time would help us to know Him better and do whatever He commanded us to do, including how we gonna live our life.

Hi shewolf, Read the Bible and decide for yourself what you want to believe. Smoking is bad for your health, but has nothing to do with anything else. Blessings.
