what would you do if your son/daughter suddenly introduced their life partner, who just happens to be the same gender? What if they announce plans for marriage? Mel

This is why I HATE religion! If it were not for religion, this would not even be an issue! Jesus always said "judge not" and what the first thing all Christians do? Same with all other major religions! Religion does NOT teach people to love. It sucks! If your adult child is happy and not hurting anyone, then be glad for him or her. Don't worry about what your freinds or neighbors think.

I think if you wanted any kind of relationship with them you would probably have to put aside the differences. I know it would be a hard thing to accept especially if it came out of no where. Some people can't accept that and cut off ties with whoever it is in their family. I don't think I could do that.

I totally agree with the comment on religion. I am Christian yet i cannot accept how some of them think, the same way how they cant accept the way i am. yes i am gay. and im getting pretty sick and tired of the bible yada yada... honestly i will say the same as to what i have said to my parents. dont parents want their children to be happy? Regardless of religion, or sexuality? u could gain another son/daughter 'in law' or you could lose your gay son or daughter...

well i would be devestated but i would learn to cope because i love my children hopefully i will have taught them this is seriously wrong so they wont turn out like that. I believe in setting high moral values.

It depends on your religious belief. If you are a Christian, certainly you will not be happy to find out your son is gay or your daughter is a lesbian. For me, everybody has the right to live and choose their own destiny. I am not a gay. I am a straight person. But I respect someone's choice to be gay or to be a lesbian. I have some gay friends and we get along well. Hey, I have a blog that you might like to visit:http://gdaybro.blogspot.com I like having new friends. so give some comment as well cheers
