Have you tried Pasta with Pesto Sauce? I know of people who prefer this over the typical pasta with tomato sauce. I would like to share to you a very simple way of preparing this recipe. Rinse and dry fresh basil well, then place basil leaves in blender. Add garlic to basil in blender and mix well, then slowly add oil while blender is running to basil garlic mix. Finally, add pine nuts and parmesan cheese. Process until all ingredients are combined and smoothed. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook pasta in boiling water with some salt and oil for about 8 to 10 minutes, then drain from water. Add pesto sauce to hot pasta and serve at once.

I used to live in Oregon in the valley where you can gow anything. I made pesto alot and put it over Gnocci (potatoe small noodles) I used wallnuts insted of pinenuts for my tastes that tasted better. Anyway I got a seed catolog and grew several types of basil. Basil is easy to grow and the different types of basils Gave it differant flavors. I don't know if your into cooking that much but thought you might be. tdemex

I learned from my uncle who is a farmer that there are several types of Basil. But he only has one of these in his farm. I wonder how Gnocci tastes, I haven't tasted it yet. I hope to find one in the local market. Thanks for sharing. I appreciate it.

I really like pesto and make it about the same way you do. I'll be planting basil again this year so that I can have fresh herbs for the pesto. I've also made a variation using cilantro and walnuts instead of basil and pine nuts. Mmmmm.... now I'm hungry again!
