There is no way you can get them back unless you have the songs stored in your computer. If not then they begone forever. I think you did not remind your cousin about the Ipod stupidity when connecting to the PC. The Ipod is somehow very stupid device whenever you connect to the PC it will automatically ask whether you want to override the existing files with the new file from your PC. Then if your cousin just blindly follow the instruction without reading it then all the file will be overwritten. I hate Ipod the fact that we cannot delete the file directly from the device itself and must go through PC to do it. And secondly whenever it is connected an automatic reminder always comes out to override the existing file. Why don't Apple do something about this two simple things which is very annoying to me. It's so simple and yet very annoying Apple really need to fix this problems.

Unless you have them saved in a folder on on itunes, you can't get them back.

I don't think you can. Do you still have them on your computer? you can just stick them back on there... but if they have been deleted off the ipod you can't get them back in less you still have the files somewhere on the computer... other wise your gonna have to re-download them all again... =\ it sucks! I had to do that once.
