Life withoust music would be completely impossible for me. It would be so dull and gloomy. I need to listen to music all the time. It is the food for my soul. ~Pinks~

I think life would be too depressing without music. Music gives people a reason to relax, enjoy, share their feelings with and to teach.

I don't like a world without sound but it does not have to be music for me, I like to hear people talk, here the birds, watch tv etc, It is all very important to me.

Hi dexterlab, Interesting question you have there. I suppose, before we can ponder on what life would be like without music, we'd first have to agree on a definition of what music is, so that we can be sure that we currently enjoy life WITH music now. How much would have to be removed before we might conclude that we are now WITHOUT music? Regardless, I have considerable difficulty imagining a world devoid of music, simply because my head is full of it all the time. I know I've been awake too long when I can hear orchestral symphonies going constantly - but even in a normal state, music infests my brain. Perhaps music is the virus that underpins conscious thought - maybe Mick Jagger isn't as primitive as we all thought! Here's a most peculiar thing - angels speak with what sound like trumpet blasts, and a most terrifying sound it is, replete with unfathomable depths of piercing wisdom and authority. Yet to me the pure melody of a well-played trumpet has no equal, crystal clear and perfect in the cool tide of mind. That something so beautiful and alluring can at one and the same time be so terrible and threatening is something of a paradox (at least, to me). Life without music? Impossible. Life IS music.

You just reminded me of the movie "FOOTLOOSE" where they were not allowed to listen to music. I don't think I could live like that. I love listening to my music.

nope, I don't think that I could live without my music neither. I'm always listening to music whenever I'm asleep or awake. It doesn't matter to me if I am asleep or awake. Music helps me relax, and plus puts me to sleep when I'm going to sleep. I love music, and am glad that it is in my life.

about the only time i listen to music is in the car. It would be a pretty boring drive without the radio.

Life without music won't feel like life at all. I listen to music for many different reasons. to cheer up myself, when i have nothing else to do, to concentrate better when I'm working. Now if there was no music then what will i do? Music is a way of expressing ones self.

Ditto!!!! Ill probably die if their wasn't any music. I'm into r&b, reggae, and hip-hop. It would drive me crazy if i couldn't hear a snare drum or a bass kick. Actually this is my life in side a life. I have to do all of the necessary things to survive and the music is just that, MUSIC TO MY EARS. Any kind of music would do. If options were slim id even listen to straight Church music. any religion would do , ill probably be singing for the Pope or anything going. Its like a second heartbeat outside of your body that gradually synchronize with your heartbeat. So So So SWEET.

if music didn't exist, we wouldn't miss it. However, music is my life and as someone pointed out earlier in the discussion, I too would rather lose my sight than my hearing. I'm already losing my hearing a little so I am going to soak up as much music as I can before I need a hearing aid.

Cant't hardly name a person who can imagine his life without music. All my friends always listen to music, like me. I just wake up and go to bed with it. Even now I'm writing this response and listening to music.

That would be awful! I would much rather lose my sight than my hearing, music makes life so much better. And, a lot of musicians would be in the charity lines!
