“Jailed criminals exposed to the scent of oranges appeared to be less aggressive and violent, a new study found.
Rotterdam Police in the Netherlands said the four-week study suggested that criminals, many of them violent, were calmer when orange scent was circulated through cell air vents, according to a report in the Daily Telegraph.
"It's amazing, fighting in the cells has been dramatically reduced and we are using 10 percent fewer sedation drugs," Herma Heester, head of police social services, told the Telegraph..” http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,331669,00.html

Apart from the nutritive value this fact that makes it a soothing agent is new to me. I have posted the link. Hope you enjoy reading it.
I love oranges especially the flavor when we peel the fruit. Do you love the smell?

Hi kalav56! I really never knew of the calming effect of the orange scent. I love the smell when I peel the orange and actually, I don't throw it away. The orange peelings I got are kept in my fridge so the fridge will smell nice and some of the peelings, I placed it in the corner of our kitchen. And when the peelings are all dried up, I compost it for our plants. hanks for the links and the information, now I know better. Take care and happy mylotting. God bless!

I have read a lot about aromatherapy. I believe I have read somewhere that the scent of orange has a calming effect. Thank you for sharing the links regarding this. I would definitely go over them to learn more about this. Personally, I love the smell of orange especially the scent it emits when peeling the fruit!
