Freelance writing without bidding

Firstly as i'm quite new to freelance writing, could someone please explain the ins and outs of bidding on freelance jobs, and secondly tell me of any good freelance sites to visit that have jobs (preferably not bidding) or that have any useful information on freelance writing.

Freelance writing might be available without bidding but mostly they are scam. Otherwise, I know three websites in this regard.. GetAFreelancer Scriptlance GoFreelancer the first two are free to join and can bid on projects. I am not sure of the third one, but know its not free to join. Try your luck here. Cheers

I have been given freelance writing jobs without bidding on them, and been paid for them. I know of the 3sites that you recommended, but if i have to bid for something i would like to know how the bidding process works? Am i going to get charged, if the bid exceeds what i'm getting paid?
