Last week i posted a discussion that i have an exam in IBM call center in Edsa Central last week. I did pass the exam and they scheduled me for another interview. but i didn't came back because my mother didn't allowed me to work in call center since i have an opportunity awaiting in PGH this May 26. I don't have any assurance yet that i will get the training slot in PGH, but since its a hospital my mom wants me to wait for it before going to other field. at this moment, im really confused what to do. im starting to bargain with my mom that if ever she won't allow me to work in the province, i will pursue my application in IBM. is my plan look good to you? please i really need pieces of advice! i need lots of prayers too!!

i think this is the problem many persons face. parents are many time opposed to the career of children. But many girls work in call centres. what is PHN? also what i syour qualification. I think she will not oppose if you work for IBM development center rather than call center? I myself work for IBM. I am software engineer ther.

so only IBM call centre is there in philipines? No development centre? actually many parents are sceptical about daughters working in call centres. but development centres would have been better, is not it?

I have the same dilemma a few months ago. With the same company(IBM) and same profession(Nurse). The only difference is I don't have any pending work opportunities in a hospital. I was already hired in this company and just waiting for what account I will be assign to. They called me one day after the result of the NLE was out and right on I was confused and more so my mom is making me confuse. So I just decided to drop it. Just think of it this way, you are lucky to be a registered nurse already. Some of my friends working in a call center who are still underboard envy me-even though I still don't have a job. If your still not sure about the PGH then keep on applying to other hospitals so just you'll have experience. What I did is I set a plan for myself. I have decided to work as a volunteer nurse for 2 months, I think after that time I'll receive a call from the hospitals I have applied in. Hopefully! Good luck with your career!!

things really are hard to decide especially when we think of the salary that we can get from the call centers. where are you currently having your volunteer experience? hopefully i would get a slot in PGH. even if its for 6 months! hope we really survive this! have a nice day!

Which of the two is heavier for you, go for it! You mom has a valid point since it will be hard later on if you will get the job at the call center and you will miss the job that is really in line with your profession. If I am in your situation, I will wait for the call or whatever from PGH anyway, call centers are hiring every now and then! right? They always have slots for applicants since most of their employees are not staying too long because of the nature of the job!

hi! they say that moms know best but, as a piece of advice, when looking for a job, of course aside from those that compensate well, you must also follow your heart. you can't go thru a job because your mom or someone else thinks it's good for you. you'll just end up blaming each other the moment you didn't perform well. take it from me. i'm a victim of it! lol

If you really want the job at PGH then I suggest that you should wait for it. Who knows, you might get in! Don't worry about your application in the IBM call center, I am sure they will reconsider. If not, there are lots of call center out there who are more than willing to accept you. Goodluck! Will pray for you. Cheers!

I advice you to choose what you are interested in. Life is yours, you live for yourself rather than for oters. Works that you do not want to do would be taken by others who likes to do. Global rolls everyday without caring you. Life is limited,We shoud seize the oppotunity because it will not come again.

Its really a complicated case but when such situation happens to me then i don't take anyone's suggestion rather go on my own. I choose the right path by analysing myself. You just have to think which job will give your career a boost along with job satisfaction and also a good pay. There are so many things to choose a job.

Working in a call center is just fine specially when we talk about the salary but you do know that it is all about pressure and stress _
