War Mongers or Peaceniks... Which have killed more people?

War is hell and is something that destroys more than it helps, but when tyrrants choose to enslave people, it is often the best course of action.
But does war account for the biggest body count on Earth? Not even close.
Disease. Disease is the biggest mass murderer known to mankind. In fact, in many of our wars, disease claimed a bigger body count than bullets and explosions.
It would seem that the people who cry out against war would also concern themselves with relieving the ravages of disease (and in fairness, they often do), but they have also been the road block to progress.
Malaria kills 11 to 12 million people per year. This is a crime against humanity because there is a way to prevent this disease from spreading... It's called Dichloro-Diphenyl-Trichloroethane(DDT)
DDT was banned because misguided activists were led to believe it causes cancer.
So, who has caused more senseless, meaningless deaths.. War Mongers or Peaceniks?
We may not be able to end war in the next few years...but we could end Malaria... but we won't because the ban is still in effect and the lie is still being told.

You are 'spot on' in this discussion. I believe that the following quote best sums up your assessment:
Alexander King, president of the The Club of Rome, wrote:
"My own doubts came when DDT was introduced. In Guyana, within two years, it had almost eliminated malaria. So my chief quarrel with DDT,in hindsight, is that it has greatly added to the population problem."
The 'Club of Rome' is a pro-UN, population control, one-world-order 'think tank', whose main claim to fame came about as a result of wholly erroneous, fabricated statistical reports, and subsquent books written to futher the population control
and environmental movements. King proudly substantiated your supposition with those now famous words about why he took issue with DDT.
Consider that King and his 'Club of Rome' and Margaret Sanger (Planned Parenthood) and Malthus (Eugenics) are the heroes of the liberal left, and there can be no doubt that liberals have killed far more people than war!!

The DDT ban is extremely interesting if exaimined closely. There is an indication that DDT is harmless and that the studies condeming it were obviously flawed. So, why was it banned?
The paranoid conspiracists among us say that the world's elites want to kill off millions of the improvished around the world to ease the burden on the planet and to make their own lives better. Banning DDT certainly has killed many more people than nuclear bombs.
Some even say AIDS was invented (Rev Wright!) for the same reason DDT was banned. When life saving beneficial substances like DDT are banned, it makes the conspiracy loons look sane!

Wow! Very interesting.. I didn't realize this.. Geesh, it should at least be used long enough to wipe out malaria! Some places in the world, if your government doesn't kill you, disease or starvation will! And no one's willing to do a thing about it..

We've known the truth about DDT for decades now, but the left still works to keep the ban in place. They have blood on their hands but they only see it as a 'pretty shade of red'.
