i am having my morning news update and i just saw a news that shows what is going on right now in china.
parts of china including chongqing, chengdu, sichuan, beijing and even shanghai are affected, the death toll is ranging from 3,000 - 5,000. that is too much.
they even showed a school and they said that 900 kids where buried underneath it and that is amazingly high.
we live in china for almost 5 years and i can honestly say that the building there is not as well made as the one here in US and other countries i have been,
before we left china there is an earthquake that happens there too, it is considered light one but boy it scares the hell out of us coz we are living on the 23rd floor and everything is shaking and we only have 2 elevators working as slow as possible LOL
it is not a good experience and we have to stay out in the park all day coz the news says it may come back and may be higher than the first one.
anyway, having experienced the light one makes me wonder how it would be to have the 7.8 magnitude on it.
it will sure shatter the building out there and a lot will be affected coz china have so many people and they have to evacuate themselves as fast as they could.
i have been to their public hospital and i told myself i would rather die at home than be there coz it is not the hospital i have in mind and now seeing all the people who needs to be in the hospital breaks my heart coz it is not a good picture and place to be.
i hope the death toll wont go higher than 5,000 coz that is already a lot.
they havent report how many are injured but they are just estimating it right now and they said it is 10,000 already and may be even more tomorrow.
they also mentioned that the earthquake is even felt in pakistan and thailand. wow!
seems like so much is going on right now in our world.
takecare!

That is truly sad and I know every year any form left so much destruction and pain to the victims! I know this is something that we have no control but at this point, all we can offer to them is our sincere prayer that all these victims will remain strong for their loved ones and may all the wealthy people all over the world will respond to their needs at this very moment!

hello,
thanks for the respond, yes i really hope that there are lots of people who will help them and other countries who needs help.
myanmar needs help as well as some states here who suffered from the hurricane and the tornados.
there are things that we cannot control but we can make an action to make the effect as not as terrible as in the past.
appreciate your time.
have a good one.
takecare!

I have been listening to the news and have cried over the quake and over the parents who are mourning their children buried in some collapsed schools.
I am glad to state that the world community is coming through...
Offers for assistance have come from the EU, Japan, the Red Cross and other disaster agencies have offered their assistance. Here in the States, President Bush has offered assistance. One of the things that I thought was interesting was that US's National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency has offered photos from spy satillites to China so that China could easily tell where the damaged bridged, buildings, railways and tunnels.
It seems that the Chinese military has been feeling that it could handle this disaster and has not requested outside aid as yet.
