Prom is suppose to be one of the most important events in a seniors life. We look forward to it our whole lives. We dress in our best and usually have an escort beside us. We are all excited and our mother's take loads and loads of pictures. So where was mother when this young lady left for the prom? Why was there no one to tell her this wasn't okay? This girl was not allowed into her prom for being scantily dressed. What do you think of this outfit? http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/us/2008/05/12/edwards.skimpy.prom.dress.khou

It's not what I call a Prom dress and wouldn't even dare let my daughter (if I had one) wear something like that. I feel for her too but she also should of known better being a senior herself.

Yes you are right, she should have known better. But I still can't help but wonder where are her parents or caretaker? I don't think I would have let my daughter parade around like that for the media either. It is very sad to me when children do not have the guidance of their parents. She will look back at this years from now and wish that she had chose better. Hopefully, she will regret this. Something that skimpy should not even be worn outside at all.

I agree. I would of changed the dress and covered the midriff and had it long. I would of changed the top bra like top of the dress too. She would of still looked beautiful to the prom - I don't know what she saw in that dress because it looked ridiculous.

I have to agree that this dress was tacky. I can not think of any place that it would look appropriate outside of the house. I would not wear it at all. About the only thing that she was not showing was common sense.

That was way too skimpy of a dress for a high school prom. It's a prom, not a red carpet affair where that may have been appropriate. I know prom is supposed to be the highlight of everyone's high school years but please! Where something that covers a little more than just your chest and hips. It's lovely, yes, but not appropriate for any school function. Even if it's not on school grounds.

I don't remember those seeing as I'm only twenty. But I do know my dress was a modest black one with spagetti straps and that was it. The dresses though are taking a turn for the worse in my opinon though.

Oh wow, that was the dress??? It is a little skimpy...And she probably already knew that they weren't going to let her in lookin' like that..Still doesn't justify the fact that she can't enjoy her own prom that she has worked hard for...

If I were her, I would have hurried home to change and come back to enjoy myself.
