I am interested to know what services your DSL Operator offer and how much it costs? My DSL operator offers ADSL line, at 5-20Mbps depending on location. Normally when I download, it takes around 16-17 minutes for downloading 1GB of data. It has telephone services included. I don't have to pay line rent. All calls to fixed phone numbers in France are free. Plus, it offers unlimited free talk time to around 35 countries around the world, and for America and Canada, calls to mobile phones are also free. It's great since I have used this service to talk to my friends, without any extra charges, who are now spread, mainly for their studies, in western Europe, China, and North America. It offers TV, too, with around 65 channels, few are English too. Many more channels are offered with extra monthly payment. I can connect my media on my laptop like photos, videos, cam and such with TV and watch it there. And, I can listen to messages, left on my phone, on my TV. It costs me around $45 a month, plus $10 extra for renting Modem and Wifi. I still think it's cheap though, as with this many services, even in my country, that I consider cheaper than here, it would have cost much higher. What about you? What services your DSL Operator offer and how much it costs? Do they only offer Internet or it includes other services like telephone and TV too? Do you have to pay separately for each service you get or it's a package deal? Do you 'perceive' the cost as cheap or expensive?

I WISH I knew! I have dial-up and it offers NO phone service while on-line frustration, wasted time, and an added bonus of loss of connection from time to time! LOL Is that $45 US dollars? That is very cheap! I pay $29 plus tax and other monthly charges [$35 total] for just a phone-line and caller ID with Call waiting. I pay $10.99 for my dial-up. i called to cancel because the price was to high and I was unable to pay it any more. They offered to cut the price and I got it lowered from $24.95 to $10.99. I thought I did really well. I'd jump on an offer like you have!!

You got quite a deal with your cancellation call, Tammy, good for you! Initially, in my homeland, I had dial up and know all those inconveniences related to it, though I didn't feel that bad back then, as after all I was getting something. But, now that I am addicted to DSL, I don't know if I can shift to Dial up, unless of course I can't pay. Yes, it's $45 (equivalent). I actually pay 29 Euros for ADSL + Unlimited telephone + TV. Plus an additional 6 Euros (3 + 3) for my modem and WiFi. And yes, it IS cheap with all those services. My partner has DSL back in our homeland and it costs $1 for every 14 hours usage, but she only gets internet and free nationwide calls. So, it's cheaper even compared to my homeland which is cheaper than France in almost every other thing.

I am currently using a 384kbps wireless broadband for about $24 a month. Its 1 year lock-in-period will end this months so I'm planning to switch to a 768kbps DSL with phone for about $29 a month, its extra feature is an increased speed-on-demand of 1280kbps from 10PM to 10AM, with this I will have a reduced cost of internet access at a much faster speed as well as a saving from my monthly basic phone bill.

Hello ferdzNK, My service do not have lock-in-period but whenever I cancel it, I'll have to pay extra 45 Euros (~$70) as cancellation fees. But, I also got a mobile with this service and that was with lock-in-period, as you call it (here we call it engagement), of two years. But, it's also ending this July. It seems as though you will have a nice package in $29, not to mention that saving on phone bill. Thanks for sharing!:-)

I'm not sure. I don't have DSL service. I am on Wi-Fi connection. I've got my laptop, and it's through wi-fi. I love it. I don't have to pay nothing for internet connection. I can stay on it all day and still not get charged. LOL I'm at my home, and get it for free. LOL
