At My Wit's End... Please Help Me Out

I am in college to better myself and to make more money after graduation, so I can afford to pay bills. I don't want to live high on the hog - I just want to be able to afford my bills at the end of the month. Right now, the bills are piling up and I can only work part time due to taking night classes to get my associate's degree. I currently am trying to pay off a large debt that accrued due to medical illness and car break-downs a while back. I spent two years trying to save $2,000 to pay this debt off, and just when I finally have enough saved to pay it off, I am forced to have to use it to move to another apartment. (My landlord isn't renewing anyone's lease in my building due to plans to renovate.) They failed to give us enough notice, so we're all having to scramble around trying to find places to move to. Anyway, now my old employer from three years ago sent me a letter stating that they've overpaid me $655 and they want their money NOW. I barely make enough to make ends meet, and now have to start all over from scratch to save the $2,000 to pay off the other debt; now I have to worry about paying off an extra $655 too?! All I do is cry, and I'm extremely depressed. I feel like I can't get ahead - there are weeks I can't eat because I can't afford it. I need help! My family can't help me - they're in the same boat I'm in. I have no one to turn to. I've applied to charities to see if they'd at least give me $500 - that would be a trememndous help so I could at least pay off the $655 and start over fresh trying to save the $2,000. I constantly get denied. I need you guys to - if you haven't already - PLEASE sign up for Revolution Money Exchange. It's a PayPal alternative, and it's better because they don't charge fees for transactions, which is great if you're a seller. You can sign up by clicking the BIG GREEN BUTTON on the top of my profile. Please - everyone who signs up will be blessed with an extra $25. Plus if you refer people, you get $10 per referral. This is the only way I can make extra money - with the exception of MyLot - because I don't have the time to work two jobs. (As I've mentioned earlier, I am a college student, taking night courses.) I will send you proof of payment. Just add me as a friend and PM me with your e-mail address and I'll send it to you. Please... I need help in the worst way. I am one paycheck away from being homeless.

Hun you might want to look into the money that you supposedly owe your 3 year old ex employer. Mabey seek some sort of lawyer that gives a free consultation. Them overpaying you is Not your fault. You need to find out how they over paid you. Like did they pay your 1.00 more an hour over the whole time you worked their and they just realized it..and the 653 is what they accumulated of overpaying you i dont think they can fault you for that. Look into it first, ask THEM questions..you have right to. Also, if you DO find out that Legally you have to pay it.. they Cant force you to pay it all at once, if its legally binding to pay it and you make some agreement with them to pay so much money every month to pay off the debt..and you make an agreement you cant afford they can sue you in court. They can try to scare you into paying it, but find out your rights and if you actually have to Legally pay it.

I have found a free attorney; he said he's going to do some investigating and get back to me. I hope it's a mistake on their part - I can't afford this right now. I know I was salary, but clocked in and out hourly. If I was sick, I got paid anyway - I was salary. If I worked over time, I got the same pay. I don't see how they've over paid me. I never went over my allotted sick day use, and never went over my allotted vacation day use.

I have to say that i agree with the two responses given at 2 & 3. You cant just give in and pay back all this money at once. Yu did not make up your own pay cheque so it is their fault not yours. Do take time out to get some legal advice and do not allow your former boss to bully you. Also for the program you're asking that people submit to, since you will have to break into the two thousand saved i would suggest that you invest a part of it wisely. These online programs which require referrals usually have a referral offers. Why not buy into one of those offers as you may find the going tough on here to get people to just sign up. All the best in all that you do and I hope you will find a way to fulfill your dreams. (lol)

I'm not trying to save $2,000 again. I'm just merely trying to get my max on my referrals for $500. Granted, the school board says I owe $655, but $500 in referrals will help tremendously! (Hopefully I won't have to owe the schol board anything, if my attorney would get back to me.) If that's the case, then, yes, I'll use the $500 towards savings for the $2,000 debt.

Well, I got a blog with some tips to get online money, but if you are not intending to put some money from your pocket, it will takes some time to work (but it will work). All you need to do is stick to the programs. Here is the link: http://dinheironlinenow.blogspot.com/

You need to check into th $655 your previous employer is demanding. I don't think they can come back 3 years later that say they overpaid you, so you need to send them the money RIGHT NOW! You can probably fight that. As for Revolution Money Exchange, you can only earn about $500 through referrals with that. It's in their guidelines that an individual person cannot earn more than that. You need to broaden your options. Try to get more hours at your job, or look for other things to do online. Good luck to you!

I know I can only get up to $500 for referrals. That's all I need at this point; I am not concerned with trying to start saving the $2,000. I am concerned with getting my old employer off my back. Right now, I have an attorney working on it for me. I'm waiting to see what the verdict is. I'm praying to God it's their mistake. I has to be - I never went over my allotted sick/vacation days. I don't have time to get more hours at my job - I'm in school. I need any extra time I have to study. Taking a break for a semester is not an opition for me, either. If I take a break, I'll be forced to have to start paying on my tuition NOW, rather than 6 months after I graduate, and I'm sorry, but I can't afford that.
