Strange how my star rating is so quick to go down, but yet so long to go back up

Does anyone else find this too with their star rating, that your star rating drops so quickly, but then it is so long to get it back up again?
I have been sitting on this silver 7 for nearly a month now, I think. I went down in ratings when the trolls were tramping about, lol. Think the trolls have died down now, but unfortunately my star rating is still at a standstill. I am not too sad, lol, just thought it would have gone up to atleast a yellow star by now.

I know what you mean. I hit 10 pretty quickly after I hit 100, then it went down to 9. I put my mouse over it and it's actually 94/100, which it has been for almost one year. I'd have thought it would go up eventually as people rate me. I guess not, though.

Gee a year on the same star rating, your star is stuck. I would have thought it would have gone up for you within the year. One good thing is it hasn't gone to a 7 lol. Hope your star rises soon to a 10, good luck.

I can relate. I have been stuck on this 8 since I started. Although I did make it to 9 once for a few days.
Thank goodness it doesnt affect earnings-LOL At least I hope not.
I'm not sure I understand the star stuff. I guess if I make it to 10 yippy-lol

Yes thank goodness it doesn't effect earnings, I don't think that would be a fair system. As some people rate negatively for no apparent reason but to play games. Hope you reach your 10 star soon, not sure why our stars are stuck?

Kiran, please do not feel disheartened about it. Star rating is done by mylot authorities and the way they do it, is not known. Lots of factors are counted and taken into account, while deciding a Star rating. Your friends know you very well that you are a very caring and nice person and you also support your friends and vice versa. I mean, what matters most is your reputation amongst your friends here on mylot and your reputation, I believe, is quite high, amongst your friends (including me). So please forget about (downward) change in star rating. I may add here that star rating doest not effect your earnigns in any manner.

stars look great on sky and thats right place for them, whenever u feel , just look at them and forget start at mylot, just keep in mind, ur friends, ur discussions and ur earning

Thank you that is really sweet. Next time I look at the stars I will think of my friends and discussions at mylot, lol. 
I feel alot better now. Was not losing any sleep though over my star rating just thought it was weird how it has been so stagnant.

Hi Kiran-I didn't realize you had dropped in your rating that's terrible-I do remember one of your discussions were deleted a while back but cannot explain why now-at the moment-fortunatley-mine hasn't gone down but you never know when it will-hope yours goes up soon-hugs littleowl

Yes my star rating has been like this for a while now. I don't think it was because a discussion got deleted though, I think that was because someone posted a referral link on one of my discussions. My rating went down when alot of other people's here did too, seems there were a few people having fun rating people negatively. Glad that is over for now, hope the star rating will go up soon too. this is the worst thing happen to my ratings although it only drops one level but the percentage is quite lower than the usual one. from 98/100 dropped to 90 in 4 days period but now it's already 3 weeks but my ratings is 91/100. incredible! i don't care my star rating now as long as it will not affect my earnings. i am more concern about my post not the star. we concentrate in earning money and the most important to have huge number of friends that support you post.

Yes it is more important that have large number of friends that support your post, good point. I am glad the star rating does not effect our earnings, do not think that would be very fair. Take care my friend.

Yeah I am totally agreeing with you, it does seem to be taking a looong time to go anywhere. I have noticed a few people that had stars go really low are seeming to ages to go back up again. Wonder why that is?

gosh, if your 7 star rating still the same for over a month, I will be in a long wait to up my rating. Mine only in rating 7 for over 10 days or so.
