i do this everytime before i go to bed. i treat them like my younger siblings so i always say goodnight to them. it looks like they could understand me whenever i talk to them and sometimes they would even respond to me with a "meow" or a bark lol i feel happy they respond and look at me like that

I say goodnight to my cats, too. Josie will tell me when it's time for us to go to bed by knocking my hands of the keyboard. After a couple of these knocks, we go upstairs together. She lays on my chest while I read for a while. Then, curls up next to me to sleep.

my girl will actually wait for me to go to bed. she'd 'loiter' around where i am, usually the living area where i watch tv with my parents. once pass 11pm, she'll start to pace and give the occasional meow. we all know that it's her way of saying 'time to sleep!'. we will then troop to my room together to sleep. on our way we'll pass by my two boys and i'll say good night to them. they just look at me, sometimes giving me a nod.

My cats always slept with me, so it was more of a mutual good night. I had to get comfortable before they settled around my legs and under my arm. Once they were in place, I tried not to move all night long, so I didn't disturb them.

I always do say goodnight to my cats. I call them in from outside if they are not already in. I place them in there baskets after I have given them a cuddle. I then stroke there heads , kiss them on the forehead and thewn say good night to them. I then close the dining room door, turn the light off and see them in the morning. Although I have four children and a husband, my cats are like my children. They are the last people I see at night time as my husband works night shift

Yes, i've always said goodnight to my pets before getting into bed. My dog understands what "bedtime" means but i'm not sure the hamster understands or even cares :P My dog also knows that "It's time to lock up" means he can have one last wee before bed :P

I dont have to say goodnight as I find my pets are in bed with me lol. I dont talk to them so much as give em a little rub before bed. My cats all love to cuddle with me at night and well sometimes attack my feet while im sleeping.

Yes, I always tell my two cats goodnight. I talk to them all the time, and they usually answer. Every time I leave them, even if it is only for a minute, I tell them where I'm going, and when I'll be back.

there is no wrong if you treat your pets like human because we are also an animals, a highest form of animals. even plants we can speak to them so that they give us more flowers or fruit. depending on your perception they work and move according to your will.

hello rhane, i always talk and say goodnights to my pets. our dog knows what a good night means and he will follow me to bed if i said good night and that means that we will go to sleep. he sleeps in our bed and just jump whenever he gets bored and sleep underneath the bed. he also knows good morning, if i wake up early in the morning and didnt say good morning to him he will not get up and will just look at me and go to sleep but if i tell him good morning he'll get up, wag his tail and follow me wherever i go and just look at me intently as if he misses me all night. such a sweet thing to start and end my day, beside my husband of course LOL takecare!

Yes I say goodnight to my cat every night befor I leave for work I'll tell him I love and I'll see him in the morning. He knows when I have to work for I have to put the shoes on and get my things together for work. He will follow me around and when it comes time for me to walk out the door he will be right there waiting for me to give him hugs and say goodnight to him. On my nights off from work when I'm ready to go to bed I will say good night to him and he just purrs away and lays right by me on the pillow.

Yes I do, I say goodnight to my fish, two granddogs, and my grandcat. I tend to talk to all my animal family, pretty much the same way I talk to my human family. They do respond most people just don't want other people to look at them like they are crazy. If it makes you feel good keep right on saying goodnight, after we are supposed to be caretakers on this planet.

I tell my cat night and bye when i leave the house. I also tell her when it's bed time and she curls up at the pillow as if she knows what bedtime means.

Of course I say good night to my cat :) he sleeps with me too, and its a ritual that he comes up and lays on my chest for a bit while I read, then he goes to the end of the bed for the night. he's as awesome pet. Marsha

My dogs get a walk before bed, so they always get a pat on the head and know it's bedtime when we get back. Then I do a quick look around the house to check that the cats are in and give them a quick stroke each before I turn in myself. they have a couple of spots where they tend to be, so they're not hard to locate. It's only when one sneaks under my son's blankets that I sometimes miss her for her evening stroke!

yeah. i tell my pets(current as well as my late pets when they were alive) goodnight or even bye if i have to leave somewhere. they look at me like they understand and nod with reassurance. and usually when i come home, they are waiting for my by the door, excited and happy to see me. when i got to bed, the pets usually follow me up the stairs and come along with me.

I do the same thing every night. I live alone and they are my babies. I love it when my cat responds.

Quite frequently I don't have to because the one that lives inside, ( a toy poodle named Georgia) ends up right beside me in the bed anyways.
