Has the price of gas put a stop to your weekend activities? I miss my yard sales (we live in the country so its a lot of driving from one to another)I miss going to see my brother every once in awhile (he lives about 100miles away). We have to drive about 60miles round trip just to get groceries So for the most part i spend weekends wishing my neighbors would have a yard sale so i could walk over!

Cj, we live in town, but even with that you know that town driving wastes gas with all the stops and starts. We have gotten to where we consolidate trips. If I needed a gallon of milk I use to just run out for it, now we wait untill there is a reason to drive, and most of the time will stop on the way home from work. My 13 year old gets alot of use out of his bike too.. LAMO so easy to give him a couple of bucks and his back pack and send him on the errand. No gas wasted there. What is sad is that I think our life styles are going to change even more before it is all said and done. I can not imagine what life is going to be like for my little grand babies when they have to face life as adults.

Maybe our grandbabies will figure out a way to fix some of the things that previous generations have messed up, so that they will be able to get about without going broke.

I'm in the same boat. I live in a very small town so good shopping or any form of entertainment is about an hour's drive away. I've cut out Saturday at Walmart, which is only about 15 minutes away, but I pass it every evening during the week, so now I stop there on Friday evening. I live in Florida and we used to take drives out to the various beaches at least once a month. We also don't take the boat out as much as we used to since that thing is a gas hog.

I am a stay at home mom and my husband works an hour away. He rotates shifts and works 12hrs. a day. when he gets off he is to tired to stop anywhere, so if we run out of something we are just out! We grocery shop every 2 weeks and try to make drs. app. and such the same day if possible. We have st. simons island and jekyll island about 30 min. away but needless to say we have cut most of our weekend activities down. My husband still trys to go fishing once in awhile but at least we get fish out of that.

I know what you mean. I used to fish almost every weekend I was off from work, but now when I buy the gas, there is no money left for bait....

Yes!! About the only place I go now is to the grocery store. With the price of gas and groceries there's not much left for anything else.

My knees and hips have put a damper on my activities the past few years, i guess my body was just preparing me for the gas prices.
