Metallica's last chance

Hi friends. Well, the title may sound a little bit too radical, but it's how I feel about the next Metallica album, which will be hopefully released by the end of this year or something like that. Why last chance? simple. Since the band was formed, Metallica released a series of masterpieces, with the extra value of never doing the same in two following albums. In each of them, they added something new. That's why Ride the Lightning is different from And Justice for all, and this one different from The Black Album, for example. But something changed with Load. It's fair to let the band try new things. They guys probably got tired of their classical heavy/thrash metal and went in different paths. Load and Reload are not bad albums, in fact some songs are good. But any comparison with the preceding albums is obscene. But things got even worse, to the point of making me mad, in St. Anger. St. Anger is a BAD album, whose production is a shame for a band that makes so many million dollars. Not a plucking in the whole album, not a solo, nothing. It's fine that a band tries new things, but if you sing opera and want to change into techno, then create a techno band. Anyway, I'm optimistic that the band will react, because in my opinion this is their last chance. Time flies, and if they make another mediocre album, I'm afraid that all of our all time fans will finally have to assume that Metallica as a creative band is over and dedicate ourselves to listen their older stuff. Thank you for reading this and feel free to add any opinion that you may want to express.

I'm not sure if anyones heard/seen the trailers on Mission Metallica with snippets of new songs but I'm pretty confident. The clips to me have been promising, there was stuff that I loved in it and stuff I was though was alright but not really anything that I just hated and couldn't listen to. They went through some of the worst conditions in St. Anger such as having a therapist and cameras with them all the time and not even having a steady bass player, all of that has changed for this album. Hetfields taking more control over writing again which is probably the most convincing argument for me that this album will be much better than St. Anger and The Loads.

Its basically album promotion for their next album, but I'll make it clear its run by Warner and not Metallica although they have some input on it. I'm a platnium member on it and usually theres 2 videos a day of the band, I'm not too sure about regular users. Basically its a video of the whole recording process starting in 2006 with The New Song and it'll show videos until when they finished and wrap up in September. Missionmetallica.com is the link if you want it.

I love Metallica too, and I had all of their albums. do you know when their next album will be coming out? What date? I loved it when Metallica did the song" Whiskey in the jar" on that one album. God, that song was just so catchy, wasn't it? LOL James did an awesome voice vocals on it. But, I have got to admit that the Old Metallica is the best of all. Especially their earlier albums with the original bass player. I forget that dude's name though.

Thank you both for replying. Yes, Whiskey in the Jar is a cover from a previous Thin Lizzy cover, but the song is not Thin Lizzy's either. It's a popular song...irish i think, but I'm not sure.
