What time does your child go to bed?

I try to get my son to bed about 8pm on a school night and whenever (within reason) on fri and sat night, what time do you put your child to bed? I find it really hard to get into a routine and get back into that rouine after a holiday, joys of parenthood LOL xx

How old is your son? When my children were young (under 8) I was really good at keeping to a routine of bath, story and bed by 8pm but as they've got older it's harder to enforce. my son is 10 now and he normally goes to bed at about 9pm but he has medication which makes it difficult for him to sleep so he's often still awake at 11. My daughter is a teenager and she tends to go to bed when she's tired - some nights she'll still be up at nearly 11pm but other nights she'll take herself off to bed at 9 for an early night.

My son is 5 and won't say when he is tired which is a nightmare! Also as summer is finally here the light nights don't help as he still thinks it day time, we've told him the time and showed him the clock etc but he looks at us as if we are crazy!

I've always thought it's quite important to have a routine with young children - I found that having tea, bath and a story at the same time let my children know that bedtime was coming up so they didn't make a fuss when it actually happened - not most nights, anyway ;) Summer light evenins can pose problems - have you tried blackout curtains? they were very handy when my son was small.

I have my daughter in bed at 9pm. I have done this since she was a baby so it is pretty much habit. Occassionally she gets to stay up a little late or if she is fussy because she hasn't had a nap then I put her in bed early. We have a routine at night that we follow. She eats dinner. Then I give her a shower. After that she gets a small snack with cartoons. By that time its right around bed time so we have some play time and snuggles. Then we lay on her bed I read her a story or two and off to bed she goes. She is only 2 and a half though.

What a great routine, I use to let my son stay up till 9 when he was younger and had no school, but now I try to get him in bed an hour earlier, not that it always works the way I want it to!!

I put them to bed at around te. Not to early cause dinner ends at 7.30 followed by homework plus study, some milk and supper, and brushing before bed. I let them stay till twelve on Saturday nights watching movies together.

I don't have any sort of bedtime schedule for my kids. The eldest takes himself off to bed when he's tired (yes I know, I'm *so* fortunate!) and I start getting the youngest off to bed once he starts to look tired. The only time I have remind the eldest is when he's playing computer games or watching a film. Then he tends to lose himself and forget that he's tired.

Around 9 at night. My daughter tends to go to bed a little later. She tries to fight her sleep, that is why this happens. My youngest daughter goes to sleep for the night around 8 to 9 at night. My son usually goes first, being that he is the one that has to go to school the next day.
