hi angel. my first job was a training office for a multinational company. i remember when i attended my first job interview for that job. the hr assistant's jaw literally dropped on the floor when she found out that her applicant is an 18 year old barely out of college. so the whole application process took real long that i was 19 years old when i got accepted. i started december 1 and as if on cue, people at the office started noticing and commenting about my age. it was weird but i'm used to it all my life so it was really no big deal. anyway, the job entailed creating training modules and conducting trainings for the company's sales force. of course, i was training people who were old enough to be my parents and it posed some "credibility" issues. of course, i took everything in stride and proved myself in the training room as well as on the field. ain't no oldie going to mess with this young turk. lol!!! i stayed at the training department for a good year and was promoted to marketing where i worked my way up to be a senior marketing officer.

When I was in College, it was summer and decided to have part time job in a restaurant as a crew whose task is all around! LOL! from waching dishes to serving the customers! It was fun, tiring, and great experience for me! I started to value every single peso I have that time since I realized from experience how hard to earn! Although, I know how hard life is, but I can say, experience gives lesson more that anything else!

I experienced that too when I worked in a law firm. Even if the lunch break will be over at 1:00pm, they expect us to jump right in into working again as soon as we can. And then there's officemates who has crab mentality.

Hi there greenline! I think that's really great! Your first job suits people who are always curious and are always wanting to know more and more. It is indeed, interesting and challenging as you said. I would guess that there's also an unexplainable sense of fulfillment when you found what you want to know. Thank you very much for your response.

Hi there Dolce Vita! Nice to see you again. I will be a teacher in the future too. I don't wonder why you don't get bored with teaching even you're doing it for a long time now. I think that there are lots of educators out there who looks at teaching as their passion. And it's nice that you have some small businesses too. Thank you very much for your response.

I think my first job was when I was about 14 or 15. I worked on Saturdays in a local green grocers, weighing up and taking the money for fruit and veg. You had to do all the addition in your head, so it was excellent for my mental arithmetic skills. When my boss wasn't around I used to eat huge amounts of fruit. We were allowed to, but I think I used to eat more than my wages were!
• Philippines
24 May 08
Hi there GreenMoo! Wow! You started working early. And it is a great job too! Well, maybe if I have your job, I will eat that much fruits too. Fruits are just hard to resist. Thank you very much for your response.

My current job as a joint quality engineer is also my first job. In this position, I need to report to our customer, and deal the customer's complains too. Somtiones, it is difficult to deal with that. I do hope I am the customer, not the supplier.

Hi there Sissi! That;s a nice job. Can be really tiring especially if you have really demanding and unreasonable and angry customers to talk to. Thank you very much for your response.
