It does still happen. I know several girls who did wait until they were married, and I know several teenagers who are waiting. I have worked around youth for the last several years, and there seems to be a growing trend to wait.

dont get me wrong. I am not saying that i think they should not wait. but how do you influence them to save it for the one they love. I told this to my son who is only 13 and he thinks i am crazy

There's not just religious reasons to wait, but there are also some real practical issues, such as the spread of diseases and pregnancy. Before anyone is ready, they need to be mature enough to handle the consequences of what they are doing.

I realize that. I am actually not that religious but it scares me to think of how early my kids will become sexually active

It happens in my country, most of the time. Cos our people think it is a must. Do you know there are still a lot of mother-in-laws who look at the "white sheet" after the honeymoon? Its just the way that we have been brought up. There are instances, the husband leaves the wife, if she's unable to "prove" virginity. How many times the doctors say that there can be virgins without that "mark", some just dont believe.

I have heard about the white sheet test. I did not think it was still done. what country are you from that they still think it is a must.

I'm sure that it still happens in some circumstances, but for about 95% I would say that I most likely doesn't.

Yes, it does. Just people do not usually run around broadcasting it. - DNatureofDTrain
