virtual mixing

I am and have been a vinyl buyer and DJ for ten years but have recently discovered virtual mixing. I feel I am cheating using this software as it is easy to use and you don't get the hands-on experience of mixing records. Anyone could do it but I am fascinated by it. However, I am fearful that vinyl is becoming obsolete because of the new technology that is available. Is virtual mixing a good idea or should we stick to our guns and carry on in the same fashion as our DJ idols back in the day? I'd like to know what your opinions are on the subject.

I've never used any hands on equipment. And I recently got into virtual mixing. It's nothing that I've really been interested in, but now I'm seeing things differently. There's no harm in virtual mixing if you keep using your stand DJ equipment. I think it's okay to do both.

Well, we could he purists and insist on the ancient instruments or we could move with the times and embrace the future. I prefer to use present advances and look out for future directions. Music can only be enhanced and only mediocrity can hurt it.
