I was wondering how everyone is handling raising prices. Are you cutting back on things, getting a second job or maybe you aren't feeling it. I know I have stopped to out so much. I try to group all of my stops into one day.

I live in a rural area so I have changed my routine when it comes to shopping. I used to drive to town on Saturday but now I stop on my way home from work once or twice a week and pick up what I need so I've been able to cut down on some of my driving. My husband is building me a Harley chopper for when gas prices his $5.00 per gallon but I really think he's doing it so I can ride with him instead of behind him.

That's nice of him to make you a Harley. We really can't downsize our vehicles with our family size. Do you think you will enjoy driving the motocycle?

Hi paliz, I've had to cut back on things, as I'm retired and on a fixed income. I almost never go out anymore except to the grocery. Blessings.

I know that certain things that we do, we can't cut back on. We've tried to cut back on our trips because we commute 10=12 miles one way to work. We try not to go out of our way too much, especially with the gas prices rising, but we can't really help it.

I live in a rural area so I've stopped driving to the larger town about 15 miles from our smaller one on Saturdays to shop. I either stop by the store on my way home from work during the week or go to the smaller grocery store in my town, which lately has had a much better meat selection than Walmart for some reason. My husband is building a Harley Chopper which he says I'll have to ride to work when gas prices reach $5.00 a gallon. He might be kidding but I'd be willing. We also don't take the boat out as much as we used to anymore because of the price of gas.

We are doing several things. One, I'm trying to earn more money online to help make ends meet (check out my blog if you want to see how), we are growing a huge vegetable garden this year. And I mean big. I'm hoping to be able to can/freeze enough to get us through most of the winter until next spring. We are also driving much less. Our big SUV has hardly been driven at all lately. It's cheaper for our family of 5 to split up, with my husband on his motorcycle and the 3 kids and I in our Beetle, than to take the big rig.
