You should start with tabs. Their really easy to recognize
http://www.ultimate-guitar.com has quite a few tabs for pretty much every song. It has acoustic tabs, electric guitar tabs, and bass tabs :)

i think there's a lot of resource articles online.
try youtube. at least you can visualize it. u will learn more.

I have learned a lot of songs and stuff by watching Youtube.com videos. A lot of people will post their versions of their songs, so you can learn the chords and play along. Another great thing is that many people will put free lessons on Youtube. I have learned a lot that way as well.
