Growing Young

I'm watching The Dr. Oz files. Its eye opening to be reminded once again, that how we live - and even how we think effects our aging process. They took four people and gave them the Bio-physical 250 blood test and the youngest of them was the one who was aging fasting - the youngest was the oldest. And it was due to stress. Apparantly, stress was shortening her telemeres, that part of the cell that keeps the cell and the body young and the absence that leads to fraying of the DNA and aging. Its so important for us to take time for ourselves and take care of ourselves. When we nurture ourselves, we have so much more to give others. What do you do to relax? I like yoga, hot baths, affection, laughing, walks, hugs from my baby.

I paint....and do other crafts. I also like hugs and kisses from my grandkids. I totally believe what they say about stress......even things like getting colds are stress related as it breaks down you immune system.

Absolutely. I used to have a tiny office when I did weight loss consulting. And clients would come in and close the door - even when they were very sick - and later I'd find they had things like strep. And boyfriends would get sick - but I'd stay healthy. Find me moving though and instant cold - even outside of cold and flu season. Jillhill, it really sounds like you have a handle on stress. Your scrapbooking and affection ways likely keep you young.
