Racism

I think about this quite often. If anyone out there is a racist (and I know there are quite a few) I'd like to know why you are a racist and what made you believe in your superiority to other races. Not judging, just curious. I'd like to have a discussion about this topic. Once I've received my first response I'd like to share my opinion on racism.

Re: We are all racist by nature. I could not disagree more with that statement. Children that are brought up in homes where there is no racism, do not become racist. Children are taught hate. Very young children don't really even regard the differences between people as significant, anymore than they notice different hair or eye color. If people are brought up in loving environments, where culture differences are valued and respected, they will grow up with the same not-racist attitudes. To say, as another member did, that you are prejudice because of all the Black, Hispanic, Asian-crime, is so ridiculous. You must not look hard enough at white crime, because it is out there. The media tends to turn the focus to crime committed by minorities in this country. People commit crimes, not because of their race, but because of their circumstances. Some do because of poverty, or because of mental illness, or because they feel they have been wronged in life. And some commit crimes because they are just bad people. None of this is initially because of their race. Racism is ugly, and toxic, and definitely not something we are born with.

MooPile what you are talking is bullsh't. Is it only black's stealing and robbing. My God. Every race in this world has robbers, murders etc. White person are in jail too. Right now do a survey and you will see more blacks working in your country building while you so called white sit and wait for welfare. So you are racist too is that so. Look at the olympics who make your country proud. Stop talk bullsh't my friend.

I am sorry you go through your life with so much misdirected fear, and hate, MooPile. it has got to make life very unpleasant. Look at statistics involving serial killers, and you will be amazed how big the percentage for white serial killers compared to non-white serial killers is. Also, look at domestic violence statistics, or watch a few episodes of cops if research isn't your thing. White people are every bit as violent as non-white people, depending upon their circumstances. I am very glad to see some of you out there feel about racism the way I do! It gives me a little hope for the future. Let's keep teaching our youth, to value diversity, and to respect culture differences. We can all learn a lot from each other. And of course keep being cautious and protective of yourself, and your children, but don't base your fear on racial bigotry.

You say, "They brought it on themselves." Did they? Did a whole race of people bring on the kind of hate you feel? Every black person brought on the wrath of you and all other racists out there? And the whole white race is completely upstanding, and so brought on the respect we all deserve, most especially the respect you deserve. And a side note; You disrespect black people also because you don't like some of the names they choose for their children? Are you serious? I know a family whose darling white children have the unfortunate names of Arena Racer, and Justa Cowgirl, and Brodeo Rider. Now that taste surely should draw some respect for all white people. And you are alive because of all of your diligence and paranoia? Well, I too am alive, and so are my children, and all my loved ones. And I get to go through life enjoying all types of people, with no ugliness to drag me down.

i have just posted racism thread yesterday too, it's about the picture of team spain, when they had a gesture showing the players using their fingers to apparently make their eyes look more Chinese. anywayz back to your post, yeah we also encountered racial discrimination, i remember when claire danes visited our country during the 90's she commented that our country have lots of rats, cockroaches & she said our country smells awful! then the government banned her even her movies are banned here in the philippines lol we should not have racial discrimination, coz we're all the same, we're all human & God created us equally. we eat, we sleep, we get tired, we breathe etc.. so what's the difference right? hehehe...

Yeah, u are so right, my dear ^_^ Y should we discriminate and be racist?? Everyone of us are humans, and we have the same features, and behaviour, the only difference is in our skin color only.. Maybe those racist belongs to the majority group of ple, and thus they feel powerful enough to bully the smaller group.. BUt when the racist is alone, they will be so helpless.. lol

this is sensative question.today i think we have overcomed the problem of racism in most of the developed areas.but i think in india many feel that they are the precious sons of god .so they are more superior than others.in some other cases money plays a vital role.but on religious basis in islam there is noplace for racism.

I just believe that there is good and bad in every group of people whether it be race or what career you're in, etc. I don't know why people label others just because one person has to act a fool. For instance, there are good cops and bad cops, there are unethical attorneys and ethical attorneys, there are good black people and bad black people, there are good white people and bad white people, and so on and so on. It just makes me mad when people judge others when they don't even get a chance to know them first.

I believe every single human being has the same worth. It is only by our actions that we degrade or exalt ourselves, no matter what colour or nationality we are. If we were all blind and couldn't see what anyone else looked like, we would have to judge others on their actions. That's the way it should be.

I think that in our attempts to make reparations for things that happened such a long time ago just strengthens racism. If we are to be equal we must all be treated equally. Why should white people be punished for what their ancesters did to black ancesters? There were white slaves before. Why does everyone always forget that? Every race has been a slave at least once in history. Reverse racism is so common these days and it is totally ignored. Why is it that it is ok for there to be a Black Entertainment Television, but it is considered racist if there was a white entertainment channel? THAT IS RACIST! And people never seem to notice the fact that there are anti-white hate groups too. Why is so much negative enegry directed at just whites? That is what I am wondering. Even Native Americans owned black slaves, even blacks owned black slaves. Seriously I think that it is ridiculous. I think if everyone stopped making such a big deal about race, it would no longer be such a problem. If people would stop pointing out differences, we would be able to see the similarities. Oh and another thing, how is it that white men are the only non-minority group? That makes no sense!!!!! There was a club at my school for minorities and anyone could join, unless they were a white male. That is discrimination!!!!! I am just so sick of everyones hypocrasy! I am just so sick of everyones drama. In everyones attempts to make things so fair and so equal that we just tipped the scale. Controversy, controversy...

RAcism is everywhere including in one's own country.. It's something beyond one's control too thta thye like and dislike about a certain race.. But there are some ple whom are influenced to become racist.. IN my own opinion, i think those ple who are racist, are just plain jealous about their achievements, and think that they are so successful without putting in hard work, while they themselves have put in so much and got nothing in the end.. So all in all, those ple who are racist, refuses to admit defeat and they are ple with high ego.. lol

I pity all racist people... Im not racist... this i know for sure caus ei see something beautiful in all racies... there is a story untold in the eyes of everyone.. && again i dont believe a race defines our capability to do something, the mechanisms of our body and how high our will is to overcome something.. Beauty isnt just in the skin.. it goes deeper.. I dont know why some ppl develop some superiosity when it comes to others. In my country, the whites and half whites are like that. I dont blame them that much anyways because the blacks have comfortable accepted their positions on the so called "Superior PYRAMID".. I for one know who i am.. and no one is going to change that.. Unfortunately for some people
