Ok so I know it sounds daft but last week I bought some flip flops as it has been real sunny. I have worn them on and off during the week and on one foot, where the straps go I have like little red dots (like you would get if you were allergic to something.) They dont itch or irrate me but its odd how its only on one foot!! They are comfy to wear and I like airing my feet once in a while especially in the summer!! Has anyone else experienced weird things like this or is it just me??

I received an e-mail from a friend a while back about a woman whose feet got terribly messed up from flip flops she had purchased from Walmart. I'm sure you could probably find the article on the web somewhere if you type in Walmart re-calls or something. The e-mail I had had photos of the womans feet with the infection she got from the footwear.

Yeah Ive seen pics of the woman from Wal-mart. That was something to do with chemical burn wasnt it?? Mine is just a rash one on foot, so not sure if I am allergic or if its just my feet adjusting to me wearing flip flops as I dont normally wear them!!

Well I guess it is entirely possible that there may be something in the flip flops that you are allergic too. I do not have that problem but you could be allergic to them. I love open shoes for the summer, I have seen some in the shop that come in mine and my daughters size, so we can have matching shoes!! Cute!! But I heard on the weather this morning that it is going to change and go colder and more cloudy with rain.

Why is it just one foot though?? How cute is that!! Matching shoes!! Does your daughter know of you plan yet?? Would you get the colour or just the same style?? I think the sun has gone to recover, I mean its not used to being out for a week at a hot temperature!! lol How could I find out for sure if I am allergic to them?? I mean Ive had some other flip flops, those with the platic across the top and between your toes. I didnt get any rash from them, just sore between the toes. The ones I have now are more material and are comfy!!

I am sure it is possible to be allergic to flip flops. I was allergic (well I'm sure I still am) to steel toed work shoes, and they really messed up my feet. I am also allergic to latex. It could be possible that there is some latex in the rubber of the flip flops and you are allergic to it.

Im not allergic to latex as when I worked as a nursery nurse we wore latex gloves all the time when changing nappies etc. I didnt thik it would be possible to be allergic to flip flops, its odd how its just on one foot though!!
