I am just bothered lately because I have been recently suffering from itch all over my scalp and entire head. I am experiencing some dandruffs because I am just don't tend to follow what is advice by my older brother that hair gels will really and usually have a side effect on me and now I am into it. I am planning to use an anti-dandruff now because these would be my last post here for now cause I still need to study my lessons and finished my homeworks and be prepared as well for tomorrow's best. I will also take a bath after these but I will still get some rest because I have been exposed to the radiation for almost an hour already to avoid straining it. Just my thoughts my dear my lotters that I would be sharing to you, have a great time here as always. ^_^

Anti dandruff shampoo will probably do the trick for the itchy scalp, but if you use gels on your hair they can cause the scalp to itch, especially if there is a build up. If I use gels or mousse or anything, I have to wash my hair at the end of the day. Well good luck with your studying and speak to you soon.

I cut and shaved off all of my hair all by myself the other night. I felt really great about. I especially do not like curly hair at all. After I got my own haircut, my scalp felt itchy after a while. But not it feels better. I washed my scalp with shampoo and conditioner in one. My hair grows fast.

If you can find a way to buy some Tea Tree Oil, which is an essential oil, you can add about 15 - 20 drops of this oil to the dandruff shampoo and it will also help heal the damage to the scalp and help with the dandruff control. Peppermint essential oil, about 10 drops in a bottle of shampoo, will help with the itch. I don't know if you can get these items but if you can they will help a great deal.

Hello best_jr, I have suffered that also before and it took like a year for me to heal my scalp. I just use anti-dandruff shampoo and try to avoid any gel anymore since that time, i really love to use something like hair coat to give me shine all day long but, it has also some bad effects! May you will get the best in your class tomorrow!

Your brother is right, hair products like gel can really give you a dandruff because of the build-up it leaves on the hair. And if you go to bed without washing your hair, you will not only get a bad hair day but flaky scalp and dirty pillow case. Mom will not be happy.. Anti-dandruff shampoos are alright. There are lots to choose from in your local store. And by the way, good luck on your study. Be good.

I tend to get a really itchy head. But in my case it is caused by psoriasis, a skin allergy similar to eczema that causes the skin on the scalp to flake and build up into a scabby kind of growth... it itches like crazy and you need to use tea tree oil shampoo to control it. Heheheh, people often ask me if I have head lice... even if I had, the psoriasis is a good excuse to cover it. Thankfully, I rarely get headlice. I just wish my head didn't itch all the time.

You can use Nizoral shampoo (I think it's made by by Johnson & Johnson) which contains Ketoconazole 1%. If you use it for just one week, your dandruff and itch will be completely gone. Moreover, the quality of your hair will be vastly improved, in the sense that it will be lustrous and thicker. I tried all other dandruff shampoos, but this was the only effective one. Also, this was the only one that IMPROVED my hair's texture. So, I'm speaking from experience. :-) Also, do try to avoid the gels for awhile, at least until your scalp's itching problem is solved. This is because the skin on your scalp is probably compromised (not fully intact, healthy skin) and hence using gel in this situation will only aggravate the itching and dandruff further.

Hey, you guys! When I first gave myself a haircut, I cut/shaved off all my hair the first time, my scalp felt itchy after a while. Now I feel better now since I have no hair for a great while. My hair grows real fast. After my own haircut, I washed my scalp with shampo and conditioner in one. Yeah, dandruff and dryscalp are the main concerns for healthy hair. When I was thirteen years old, I had chicken pox that put me out of school for almost two weeks. The pox got on my scalp. I have taken care of all that by certainly taking my long and hot soak with aveeno soap. I never had skin disease before.

I haven't had dandruff in some time, mainly because I keep my hair very very short. When I did though I would simply shampoo with a dandruff shampoo.

My scalp often gets itchy because of dandruff. This is mainly because i use different brands of shampoos. When i run out of my usual shampoo, i'll just use whatever is available.

Hey there!;) Though your really very busy and pressured on your studies, im amazed that you could still post many topics!.heheh.. Well, i had also itchy scalp caused by dandruffs. I used 'clear' anti-dandruff shampoo(im not that endorsing!hihih!). Uhm..it's effective for me 'cause as early as one week my dandruff was gone. And...it's time for me to go 'cause my class is still up waiting.)) Take care!
