When we talk of Gandhism, the first thing that comes to our mind is 'showing the other cheek, when slapped on the first' and something like this. But in my view it is much beyond that.Because non-violence is such a powerful concept that it shakes the things from the roots when followed. From our daily life experiences it is confirmed that we can never equally retaliate a blow with a blow.. I therefore strongly believe that Gandhism is still relevant today..what do you say ? Be frank please..

Frankly writing, I really appreciate Gandhism and Mahatma Gandhi is my idol..but I don't think his principles are still being applied nowadays...You strongly believed that Gandhism is still relevant today and it will always be relevant but its application is decreasing nowadays. Everywhere in this world, we can see violence, racial discrimination, terrorist attacks, prejudice and hatred. Why human is doing like this? Humanity is moving towards its self-destruction. I believe that if the principles of Mahatma Gandhi are applied worldwide, the world can be saved. The world can become peaceful and love for mankind will rise. What do you say?

Well true, Gandhism is required now as now violence is rooted in all. Only when gandhism like non violence is taken as weapon, then the beauty of peace will be spread all over the world.

Gandhism - Gandhism (or Gandhianism) is a collection of inspirations, principles, beliefs and philosophy of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (known as Mahatma Gandhi), who was a major political and spiritual leader of India and the Indian Independence Movement.
I don't know a lot about Gandhism as I was bought up in the UK. From what little I do know I can't agree that it is always the right way. If someone comes up to you in the street with a knife and stabs you, will you turn the other cheek? If someone breaks into your home to burgle you and potentially harm your family members will you smile and let them get on with it and turn the other cheek? I am a woman and even though I have a hot temper verbally, I do not like violence, but that does not mean I would happily let someone walk all over me and take what is mine or hurt those that are dear to me.
