Can any one say that they know their minds?

It seems like a stupid question and I know how I reacted to this query many years ago. Of course I know my own mind. It is the best thing I know. I could not have been more wrong. Now that I know it, I find that I know more about my little tea plants than I do about my own mind. Or should I say, I know more about computers than I know about my own mind. Does anyone want to know their own minds?

I always think that I know my own mind, but then it goes and plays dirty tricks on me. For example. I want to lose weight. That's quite a common aspiration here amongst both men and women. You can do it the hard way, go to the gym, lift weights, run for miles, call an ambulance! Or the expensive way. Go once a week to a club where you are publicly weighed and then humiliated if you've gained or lost weight! My favourite though is to just use restraint. So why is it that I go to the kitchen to eat a low fat yoghurt and end up with a half litre of full fat ice cream instead?!! It's a crazy world in my mind.

It's a constant battle between me and my mind too and my mind knows me better than I know myself and comes back strong after I've bested it, as when I finally woke up and done that early morning jog. Try it again the next day and my mind tells me to sleep, yesterday's job was plenty exercise; does it to me every time.
