Is anyone on this website a shaman? Do you know someone who is?

Hmm no I don't think that I know anyone who is a shaman. I did however go on a shamanic journey before ... it was very interesting.

Can you describe your shamanic journey? Did you go by yourself or with someone else too? What did you experience?

I was guided on a spirit quest when I was a teenager to find my first totem. I practiced wicca throughout highschool, and was a member of a coven of three. This was also around the time I found the books of Don Juan. I got away from practicing for a long while when I started raising a family and recently have renewed my interest. I recommend Beyond the Lodge of the Sun by Chokecherry Gall Eagle, I found this book extremely inspiring.

It was my first journey and it was in a group setting however we all went on our own seperate journeys. It was very interesting to say the least. I kept shapeshifting into different beings ... at the beginning and the end I was a young native woman. I shifted into a few other people in bewteen. The scenes in my journey also kept changing. A lot of symbolism was given instead of a straight answer. Two of my animals totems where also present at points throughout the journey. The deer and the hawk. We went into the trance using a double beat on the drum. Have you ever gone on a journey?

I don't know anyone on here that is a shaman. Hell, i don't know anyone anywhere that is a shaman. It'd probably be cool to meet someone that is a shaman though. Tell me if you find someone :]

Yeah I guess the idea of a Shaman sitting at their computer reading mylot messages is a bizzare concept...I will recommend a book that I thought was really good though. Beyond the Lodge of the Sun by Chokecherry Gall Eagle. If Native American medicine is of any interest to you at all, this is the best book I've read about it to date. It has a biographical style that I enjoy. You really get to know the author. Also it blends Christianity with tribal medicine in a way I think is thought provoking. Cool stuff, thanks for your comment.
