Do you post personal issues here on mylot? Why or why not? I'm going to refrain from answering my own question this time because I want your personal opinions on this and I don't want to influence your responses in any way.

i try not to but sometimes it is hard not to when you believe you may be reacting in the wrong way to certain situations and you want to get others opinions without being judged.

But when you get a judgemental post that is offbase you can just counter it with a response and then leave it alone.

I guess that is the real question though. Can you do it and get real opinions without being judged? I think that most times that is the case but I think that posting personal issues here does open you up to the possible judgmental post and you have to be prepared for it.

I won't post my personal issues. Because I share my personal issues with only my closest friends. It is really difficult to understand our problems for new people. They don't know about our strengths and weakness...They cant understand our situation. It is not good idea to share personal issues on myLot...Thank a lot...Have a nice day...

well said. I can follow that line of thinking. I don't usually do it either. Although tonight I had a weak moment and just needed some comfort. I was here and so I typed it. ah well, what's done is done. lol

I do post some personal issues but not all the time. Some things are better left kept to yourself. Im sure no one here wants to hear about my constipation lol im kidding but you know what i mean.

Sometimes I do. Recently I had posted a discussion about questions with dating. I can get different perspectives from people. And in the end, I end up feeling better and more sure about whatever it is. I don't have many people in my life whom I can go to to get advice from. And I recently followed advice from someone close and it didn't quite end up very well. So it is better to see what different people think on a certain topic. At least that is what I think.

I have posted personal questions that relate to something I'm going through personally. I don't see why not. Nobody here knows the real me or my real life, but many people have very good advice. If I can find the solution for my problem by asking some strangers, why not? It will save me from having to pay a shrink

Though I'm new here, I feel its safe to post personal issues in the matter that my intention is to gather opinions on how I will solve such issue. It may or may not affect my decision, at least I have been given a chance to know that I am not the only one having such trouble or issue in life. I need people to guide me as I go through life's journey. I won't ask people to carry me, I just need a lift from that issue. =) Have a great day!

I go with my moods or what feels right for me at the time of the posting. I don't really consciously refrain myself from posting personal issues. I just aim to be as informative and as honest as possible in my responses. There were times that I were emotional, so i posted emotional discussions. There were times that I was angry, inspired, excited and sad and they show in my discussions and responses. Doesn't really matter to me if I get personal or not. It's just what gives at the time of the posting.

Well, I rarely start my own discussions. When I do, I discuss about other people more than myself. There were times that I did post personal issues here but not as much as other topics that are not about me.

I share my personal experience and a few harmless details about myself but nothing I'd regret if it fell into the wrong hands. My first experience with a site like this was at Answerbag and I shared everything I had no reason not to or so I thought. Turns out I was stupid. I came across a group of people who farmed personal information from the things people shared and used this information in the most heinous way. People were harmed, jobs were lost, children were threatened, scary objects arrived via the mail that kind of thing. I had to make a huge fuss to make the staff release my information for removal so I could sleep at night knowing that the predators didnt have my assistance in tracking me into my life. Thankfully I got this done before I became the next target, which followed shortly after my hissy fit. :0) I will never be so free and easy with the details of my life. Nobody needs to know where my son goes to school and I'm not going to tell them.
