mal has been recruited to bake for this party for his boss tommorow.. and has comandeered the kitchen. its nearly midnight.. and hes down there baking like a madman. his cheesecake.. rephrase.. cheeZecake, is famous. least round these parts anyways. everyone that knows us, and even some who dont.. seek him out for this delectble concoction. he varried an old recipe of his mothers to make it his own, and its a well guarded secret from all. normally he restricts its consumption to once a year at the winter holidays... everything is from scratch. i attempted to help him with the graham crusts, but i suggested he smash em up by tossing them into a ziploc bag and wailing on em with a rolling pin to save himself some time and energy. he scoffed at me like my seemingly logical suggestion was complete blasphemy ..;giggles;.. "pffft.. they have to be hand crushed individually!!" i left him alone to his mad-scientist tendencies. being shuffled out of my domain is well worth it though.. his cheeZecake is the absolute best ive ever tasted in my life. do you have a super-secret guarded recipe you wont allow anyone else to know thats coveted by others? what..why..and wheredja get it from??

!!!! Hey! This is an old family recipe I'll have you know! Ok, ok, here's the WHOLE thing - just so you won't have nightmares. 1. 2 dozen small meatballs, browned in two tablespoons of oil. 2. 1/2 jar Welch's (it HAS to be Welch's) Grape Jelly 3. 1/2 bottle (standard size) of Heinz ketchup Mix over low heat the jelly (NOT JAM) and ketchup until thoroughly blended. Pour mixture over meatballs, reduce heat to simmer, turning meatballs every ten minutes. After 30 minutes remove entire concoction from pan, put in container, freeze pr refrigerate and when party time arrives, heat the whole thing in the microwave for 3 minutes, stick the meatballs with party toothpicks and watch your guest die in bliss! Otherwise just remove from heat, serve over noodles and your kids will love you forever. Just don't EVER tell anyone what the sauce is made of! LOL

I don't know if it's coveted or not plus I think sometimes I share my recipes "too much". I have heaps of recipes that people do ask for. It usually stuff that have been in the family for a while - tarts, meatballs, certain meat stews and such. My own recipes are well, mostly shared but I don't give out the exact measurements. ^.^ Why I do it? Well, for starters, for some dishes, I don't have exact measurements; and secondly I adapted the recipe and experimented a little.
