I'm thinking of making one, taking pictures of prepared dishes and having it laminated. Cool idea? Or am I drinking too much cooking wine?

That's not a bad idea. I have seen some people even make it into a scrapbook cook book. Not only do you take pictures of the dishes, but pictures of your family (especially old recipes and pics of like say your grandmother) and even write a little story about the dish....it's a fun way to pass on the family recipes as well as family history... And now that you mention this I may do one myself. Happy cooking!

Putting a little history behind the dish is a good idea too, I'll borrow that one if you don't mind.

That's nice, it's cool. My mother has these recipes in mind and she always have it on our table when we eat. Probably it's nice to write it down and make my father choose what he likes. He's the one very particular when it comes to food because of his illness.

There could be low sodium or fat free menus too. It's important to everyones health to eat right, especially since food gives us life.

I think that sounds really nice - if you have a lot of recipes that the family kind of associates with home cooked meals, it would be a great thing to have. Not only that, but it would be nice to be able to be that organized.

I'm organized, its a sickness I have to deal with. I just thought it would be kind of neat to have something like that so when the kids got older they would think I was a cool dad at one point. Plus you can always add a page as thyme goes on.
