Yes.This depends the amount of money he or she asking.People in my country easily donate that amount of money.Even for completely stranger person.I also lend that amount of money. I will not worry about the money I lend Whether I will return back it. I will lend you the money but you have to wait for 15 days.Because I will get money in my paypal account begining of the next month.

I have in the past but only when I kinda had the feeling that the person really needed it. If they were real casual about it and acted like everyone owed them then I probably wouldn't. We have a lot of street people that ask for money for food, if they are hungry I will offer to get them something and if they say no then they aren't hungry enough.

"Give a man a fish, and feed him for a day. Teach him to fish, and feed him for life." I am always willing to help people to make money instead of giving money. I helped so many strangers with more than just one dollar. money are just an illusion....giving is receiving...

that's a good point. we must help those who are in need even if we don't know them. & when we're helping someone, we shouldn't be expecting for something in return.

I would give you the money if I have some, no questions asked. I mean, its just a dollar..... anyways, I probably won't see you again, hehehe. Ever noticed how good it feels after you help someone?

what if i insist that i'll give it back? does this mean that you won't coz it is still considered as lending?

To lend, a dollar. I guess not. A complete stranger cannot pay me in return... But if you ask for it, maybe I will give, it depends on how you look, and the way you ask for it.

If its in my country I'll give them Re.1 even if a stranger ask as its considered to only Re.1 for me when we talk in terms of dollar no I'll not as it refers to Rs.40 for me & I cannot give to a stranger

that's a man's definition of lending. expecting something in return. for me, i don't care if the stranger will return it or not. as long as my dollar will help him, that's fine with me. & besides, that's just a dollar. i can earn it again. anyway, it's your opinion & i do respect that. ;)

i understand. i guess our decision also depends on if we do have something to lend them. :)

Normally I won’t lend any money to a complete stranger. If he is really hungry or thirsty I would rather buy him a bun or a glass of drink. It is definitely sure that a stranger will not return me the money though it is a small sum. If I simple give him the money I would then encourage begging.

My husband did lend $15 usd to a stranger few years back but until today he still never turned up though he had got our house phone number. This has become the laughing stock of both my son and me to tease him to be such a generous person. Who might know one day this stranger would return the money to him. This is what my husband replies us jokingly whenever we mention this incident to him.

now i see why you have that idea. anyway, at least your husband helped the man. & even there is a large possibility that a stranger will not pay, still, not all strangers do not pay back. ;)

how can you be so sure that a stranger definitely won't give it back?

If I had a dollar and someone came up and asked me for a dollar yes I would. Unless I got a real bad vibe from the person then I probably would find a quick exit with a quick excuse.

good point. if you're sensing that they will use it for something bad, it is most advisable not to lend them anything.

If I have it most times I will. I dont run into people who ask often. You kinda know if the person will use it for no good.

It depends. Because sometimes i see the person for more than a few days still asking around for money. If the person genuinely needs money for transport to go home, i would be gladly to give him a dollar.

Though it's not easy to trust strangers, some strangers turn out to be more faithful thank others. I would lend you a dollar... I probably would...

that's so nice of you. actually, lending a dollar is really hard if it's a complete stranger who's asking you. i guess what holds you back is the thought that it is money. you can buy something out of it. if it's a pen, i believe most of us will hand it immediately without second thoughts.

I normally don't but if I find the stranger really in need then, Yes. I wouldn't even consider it as borrowed but I wont mind if the stranger insist. With so many taking advantage of these I have develop a hard stance on giving one.

if i can see that the stranger is poor, then maybe i can lend that person.. but if the person asking me for it is like she/he can afford life, maybe il think twice.. money is not that easy to give nowadays.. and the fact that a stranger is someone you dont know and lending money is so risky.. you are not sure whether he or she will pay you back or not..

To lend is to pay back. How would a stranger pay you back? I surely would not be interested in giving you information to contact me and a dollar. For everyday panhandlers or homeless people I normally operate purely off of instinct. Sometimes I give, sometimes I don't.
