Can you tell how someone may look by the sound of their voice?

I am Terrible at this! But I have Been told ( in the past )( when I'm in a relaxed Mood ) that I have a Deep Voice on the phone! But if I'm excited ( for Some reason I have a Much Higher pitched Voice ) Here's One thing that has Bugged Me though......When My Husband's friends call the house looking for him.....they always Comment to him on how they Like my Voice! Personally I can't stand my own voice. It kind of sounds like Nails on a Chalkboard. Here's My question.....Do most Men like women with Deeper , yet still quite Feminine voices? If So.....Why?

Hey! Interesting topic. For the pretty women in my country, they sound mostly like teens irrespective of their ages, and for the men- yes! Their voices reflect their ages. The general rule is that the sound of matured, aged or teen men are different and easily distinguishable. So by listening to the voice of a man over phone, you can have an overall idea about the age of that man, and somehow about his personality as well. But there are few exceptions as well. The Governor of our state sounds like a teen, but he is heading towards his seventies fast! In those exceptional cases, you are bound to make a mistake.

Hi cream97! Oh no not really! I have seen some radio people who have really good and beautiful voice and when I meet them, they are really not so good looking after all. haha..It is like "better heard than seen" kind of guys. haha..And I really am not good with that kind of judgment. i am not good in this. when i hear someone's voice. i would always envision the person... my perception most of the time is wrong.

As far as science is related, up to now, there's no research showing that facial appearance and voice aren't interrelated.. Also, from my general knowledge, its also the same judgment, defining one's appearance is a tedious task, never easy, and independent of other factors related to the person.
